I know we usually switch everything so match ups don't matter as much but against A&M we started out not switching because of their size. We eventually went back to switching everything and we killed it.

I'm just wondering with their front court being smaller how we will handle this.

My biggest matchup is I would say allow buddy to guard Dorsey because I would rather him be on a 3 point shooter then one who drives to the rack. Less chance of a foul.

I think Spangler on brooks is exactly what Spangler needs. Spangler bangs with way bigger guys for boards then Brooks and wins so hopefully It's a matchup Spangler will take advantage of on the boards and offensively.

Boucher and Lattin seems to be the most obvious matchup. I think Lattin matches up really well with him but Boucher does have some handles so Lattin will have to be ready to move his feet.

Cousins I think has to be the primary defender against Cook. I think his toughness and intensity will be good against him.

Finally if Woodard guards benson that would be best not only because of size but because it doesn't seem to be a tall task defensively with Benson not being a big threat.

On paper I love our matchup...just know their athleticism could become an issue. If our guys block out and protect the paint we have a real shot.

What do you guys think?

The match-up that worries me is Brooks. We have an answer for everyone else, but Brooks vs. Spangler or Brooks vs. Lattin is a killer. Thankfully, Spangler should be able to work in the post a little bit.

haven't watched them close...

is Brooks and or Boucher threats from the 3 at all? if so I see spangs getting burnt some if he's on Brooks. If he hits a couple of 3's then he'll drive and dish.

We seem to really help on drives which can leave guys open or get Lattin in foul trouble due to jumping.

The good is both James and McNeace played well last game. Buford is another guy that can guard the 3 and def the dribble drive.

Brooks and Boucher both have range. It will be a very difficult match up for us.

I think the OU guards have the advantage of experience and maturity even if there is a mismatch in talent, it still is about bringing your best and being tough on the big stage even when you get hit in the mouth.

This is where Odomes and maybe Buford will help in a year or two. They're the only guys with the size and quickness to defend someone like Brooks, but Buford is still raw on defense and Odomes can't get on the floor.

Unfortunately we need them today...lol.
It'll b a good game. If we play our A game should b good.

I do agree there. I wonder if we will see some James on brooks. I know that sounds funny but I could see us doing some 4 guard lineups and rotating Spangler and Lattin a bit. Kruger said there was a possibility of playing James at the 4 during the tourney. Wonder if this is when he busts that out.

I'm pretty sure he busted it out in the second half against A&M. There were a couple times we had 4 guards out there.

And yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if we see that a bit today.

Yeah I couldn't remember if we did or not. Thought maybe it was Bufford in at the same time too. Either way would be a great time to see it again. I think that stretches the floor so much (especially if spangs is hitting).

Spangler on Brooks?!? They don't even remotely play the same position.

Spangler on Boucher, Lattin on Cook...Cousins or Buddy is going to guard Brooks.
