MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

For CFB they are not good unless they have greatly improved the last 12 months.
Their grades were laughable for OU players when scoop would actively post the scores
Let me guess, you don't think Gabriel is very good and were upset with PFF would give him a better score than you thought he deserved?

It's better for players that play a lot of snaps. You can get some "small sample size" craziness for guys that played a handful of snaps.

I do not know. Havent heard the name once this year.
Piggybacking off this and maybe someone already has him wrapped up.

He got better in every facet of his game this year compared to his Freshman year.

I’m afraid the backup plan is starting Godwin and bringing Luke off the bench and pretending like a guy who shot 26 percent on wide open threes is a “stretch” 5 who will space the floor.
I remember during the game threads last year on SS people called him a knockdown shooter. After he started a STELLAR 1-6 from 3 in 6 games people still kept calling him that. It was mind numbing.

I think he will definitely improve to be a nice role player but OU is in danger if he’s playing a bunch.

He's absolutely horrible. I remember in back to back games when he received PT the opponents we played went on big runs while he was in the game. He was a borderline automatic turnover. Dude is awful.

I’m gonna give it until January. I think.

That is a tad revisionist. He struggled in the PnR and didn't shoot as well as hoped, but it happens for a freshman. If he is our backup big, we are in trouble though. I agree, but I wouldn't say he is awful. He provided some decent minutes at times. Give him more development as a big and he could be serviceable.

Oleg Retsov, was awful. Yaya, is not good. I would not classify Luke as awful. I would say unpolished and needing a lot more work. He has some good tools. He only attempted 30 3's, that is a small sample size for someone who needs more attempts based on practice reports. (Or Moser fooled us all, that is also possible)

It feels like 5 years from now, even if he never does much at OU, people will still act like he was a really good shooter because he made a couple threes in Lawrence and because Moser has hyped up his shooting so much. He was actually slightly more competent as an overall player than I thought, but he should be a third big on a good roster.

If they kept advanced stats in college, I would love to see what his +/- was while on the floor. He was AWFUL.

It's not revisionist. The Baylor game in the first half during Baylors insane run on defense and offense he was the main reason Baylor went on an 8-0 run. He was lost on defense and got trapped in the corner not once but twice for bad TO's or a bad shot.

The Kansas game. He was absolutely deplorable again in the first half. He had two TO's to himself to help Kansas get on a roll.

Why in the plue perfect Hell do people continue to make excuses for him? He was absolutely deplorable. If his shots not going down (the majority of the time it wasn't) he's utterly useless besides being tall.

Not everybody that shoots it well in practice shoots it well in games.

His athleticism is not good. He is relatively slow and immobile. I'm not sure how much I expect that to change over the years.

yall must have been watching a different Northweather then i watched .. he was a very effective defender and the O ran better with him on the floor ..

and the advanced stats fully back that up
