MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Explain. Because I don't see it.

A little better shooting the 3, on paper. That's about the only "improvement" I see.
Pedulla averaged 15 in the ACC, Elvis was a strong player on a 7 seed, Scott can shoot lights out and play defense, Moore is Moore and Garrison > Godwin.

Now last years team had solid potential until it was apparent Uzan and Oweh weren’t it and McCollum got beat up in big 12 play.

I’ll also add that Thune said Pedulla and Moser’s meeting didn’t go well at all. He’s never come back and gave any details on what that meant though.
Thune doesn't know anything. IF Pedulla does not go to OU it is due to him wanting to be on a higher quality team. That is why he and Garrison are tied together at this point.

I think that team is quite a bit better.
Pedulla>McCollum. Slightly
Elvis<Uzan. Not close
Scott<Oweh. Slightly
Moore=Moore
Garrison>Godwin. Slightly
Jones<Soares. Not close
Cooper=Darthard. We'll see
Godwin>Hughley. Slightly

I just don't see it. Garrison & Cooper would have to make huge jumps for it to move the needle slightly.

yall must have been watching a different Northweather then i watched .. he was a very effective defender and the O ran better with him on the floor ..

and the advanced stats fully back that up
Yep. When Luke was on the court, he changed the geometry of the offense. Being a shooting threat is just as valuable as your shooting percentages. He needs to be better than 26%, but if teams continue to still guard him the way they did this year, his mere presence on the court is doing a lot to open the offense up for others.

Appreciate the response.

I'll just add this, Pedulla took 80 more shots than McCollum did last year. Pedulla also turned the ball over about 40 more times.

Scott wasn't "lights out" last year. Maybe the year before. Which version do we get? Will the increase in competition affect his shooting? He played the 4 at NT. Can he play the wing/3 in the SEC? Can he switch and defend 1-4? I don't know.

We were at our best with Soares starting.

I'd do the comparison that way.
Scott < Soares
Jones < Oweh

Some of the new guys have one thing they do pretty well, but I don't think they are as athletic or well-rounded (on potential, at least) as some of the ugys they are replacing.

For that amount of money you could move them anywhere. We also have Zoom and Facetime. It really wouldn't be smart to turn down that much money.
Some people don’t want to move.

Are you also suggesting that zoom is an ok alternative to parenting?

He isn't nearly as bad as you are making him out to be. The potential is there. He has great size and is a freshman put into a role he wasn't ready for.

Don’t waste your time arguing with Tarheel. As if him taking pot shots at other posters on one board isnt enough…now he’s found his way over here. The comment about Northweather being a knock down shooter came from PORTER MOSER…people were simply repeating what the guy who sees him in practice everyday said. Yet he makes it sound like it was someone’s personal opinion.

Is LN a great player at this point? No…but he was just a RS freshman, and will only get better. Tarheel would have wanted to run off Stacey King in the day too. He didn’t do much until his Jr season. (No, I’m not saying Luke will be anything close to King), the point is players improve.

I disagree in a major way on Scott and Oweh. Oweh does very little, even on defense he played lazy and got back cut to death.
