MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

The word on the street is that Baylor is offering Jeremy Roach (Duke) $1.5 million.

Per Trilly, this kid might be backing out of his KU commitment (maybe forced out). At this point, OU should reach out. Not sure what his fallback options will be. He had a top 3 of KU, Houston, and UCONN. No one thought the UH or UCONN inclusions were legit.

I wish it was Mayo backing out.

It’s just all he puts though and can’t back up his reasoning. If you think my take on something was so wrong that it “invalidates” anything else I write fine, but be able to at least argue your side.
Ok

Again how much are teams willing to pay BG for next year? How much would a team pay SG for next year?

Getting a higher offer doesn’t all of the sudden make his stats go higher or give OSU more wins. He’s got great upside and I’m pretty confident he’ll pass Godwin next year. I just don’t see how you can guarantee he’s going to be way better than him by next year when they were equal this year.

Ok. Disagree whole heartedly. I don’t really even think it will be close. And BGs value on the open market is pretty evident of that. I don’t think any team would take Sam over BG, even if only looking at one year

You disagree that his higher offer didn’t raise his stats or didn’t give OSU more wins? Or that he’ll be better than Godwin?

I wouldn’t take Godwin over BG either, that’s why I rated BG over Godwin.

Brandon Garrison: 108.6 offensive rating, 101.2 defensive rating, 2.2 win shares.

Sam Godwin: 122.1 offensive rating, 102 defensive rating, 2.5 win shares.

I’m still waiting on you to contribute at all to this discussion.

One was a true freshman and the other a senior. Godwin also had much better non-conference numbers, so I'd bet the gap is pretty small in conference play. I agree that neither were amazing, but Godwin got the absolute most out of his body this year. There won't be a leap forward, but there likely will be for Garrison. A lot can happen in one year with 6'11 teenagers still growing into their body.

By no means do I think Garrison is a superstar, but we don't get superstar bigs. If we miss on him, I don't expect we'll get a shot with a comparable big. With guys like Overton and Pedulla, there are many other options in the portal. If you have trouble finding talented guys under 6'4, you simply aren't looking.

I agree, I have this whole time. I’m confident Garrison will be better than Godwin next year. I have yet to say Godwin is better or that BG won’t make OU better. I want Garrison to be OU’s starting center next year.

I said I don’t think a roster of Pedulla, Elvis, Scott, Moore, BG, Jones, Godwin, Cooper is better than McCollum, Uzan, Soares, Moore, Godwin, Oweh, Hughley, and Darthard. I think that roster is very similar to what we watched this year.

This kid could play the 3. Competition with Scott. Loser gets 6th/7th man. Harris is rail thin.

Yes. He's more of a 4. Don't care. Too talented. Make it work.

Yes. He's better than A. Scott.

Yes. He's better than Elvis. Could you imagine a backcourt of Pedulla and Shulga. Would be chaos. I'd love it.

Harris is nice in the boards
