MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Shouldn't of mattered. Playing like hot trash at home at the end of the game vs Taco Tech in a game they should've and could've won still makes me shake my head.
Yep, one more win does it. Heck, the Houston win definitely does it too.

This is not the thread to re-tread this argument, but we could have done a lot different to help our chances.

It doesn't help that our last 5 in conference losses were to (5) Top 27 teams in KenPom. (3 Top15 teams) We had a rough go about it, not going to say we didn't.

I really don’t want to rehash this stuff but another one is the UCF game. I think people sometimes forget this one when looking back. Very winnable game against one of the worst offensive teams in the country, and coming off a great win at Kstate. And it’s like OU didn’t even practice that week. They were so completely unprepared to play it was shocking. That is worse than any committee mistake imo.

Just for the awareness...(Echoing CT)

Kobe shot 37% from 3 last year (on 120+ attempts), career 36% shooter...that is up there with a solid 3pt shooter. If he comes in shooting the shots Le'Tre got, it will be a solid win win.

That's cool. In my opinion, we should've left no doubt and we didn't. So it is what it is. Being absolute garbage down the stretch when it mattered didn't help.
We literally sat guys healthy enough to play in the Big 12 Tourney.

Coaching blunder of the season right there.

It’s not ideal but go look at soares and how he improved here
I'm not expecting that to be the norm, but judging from who we're likely getting from the Portal this year, if we're going to be any good we probably need to hit on a similar player. Meaning, somebody you wouldn't expect much from, that can step up and be 1a or 1b with Pedulla, assuming we get him.

Edit: But I would rather go after some P5/P6 guys to potentially fill that roll. Just feel like that is the safer route.

Gotta hope so. Just have to hope he doesn't shoot midrange jump shots.

My thoughts.. the more film I watch on him the more I like him. He gets to the rim better & more capable of finishing shots vs Darthard. He looks to be just as good or better of a 3pt shooter as well. Better combo guard.. Darthard wins the defensive side of things & that's really it for me.
Agree with many posters that he needs to be in that 7-8 spot for us. Nothing wrong with that.

I agree with the last point you make, but would feel better if we were anywhere close to filling spots 2 through 6.

It’s 2024, 2-point shooting percentage is nearly irrelevant. Elvis shoots 3s well and can defend.

He’s a good pickup so long as he’s our third or fourth scoring option, which he should be if we land Pedulla and Garrison and Moore is back.
Garrison is not a "scoring option".

Elvis needs to be coming off the bench. I doubt he does/will. That said, we need to pair a VERY good starting 3 man with him. Elvis is a catch and shoot 3 point shooter. He isn't going to add much else offensively in the SEC. Would like a 3 man that create for himself/teammates, so Pedulla isn't the only one that can/does in the starting lineup.

He is a scoring option. He can be a 10-12ppg guy all day. Is he ISO option nah. not his game.
