And some still think it isn’t about the money..
Are you certain the Duke players aren't leaving for more money elsewhere?
Edit: NVM. I misread your post.

Oh they for sure are leaving for more money elsewhere. Duke couldn't give a damn about their football program. All their NIL is in basketball. Even if Scheyer leaves a lot to be desired as an HC.Are you certain the Duke players aren't leaving for more money elsewhere?

I have zero confidence he can properly evaluate what gives him the best chance to win. He waited till late February to start our best player even though Oweh had been awful for about five or six weeks by that point.I cannot envision a world in which we miss the tournament again and Moser is back.
Which is why I find it hard to believe he’s going to keep Keita. If I were on the verge of being fired, I would want to give myself the best possible chance to succeed, and wasting a scholarship isn’t a great plan, imo.
Duke has an unreal class coming in and I’d guess some of the guys leaving know they might be losing playing time if they stick around. And some still think it isn’t about the money..
Duke can’t pay guys? And some still think it isn’t about the money..
Duke can’t pay guys?
I doubt that is what’s going on here, but I can’t say that definitively. Yet.Someone else potentially paying them more.

Maybe he thinks he has a better shot at a deep March Madness run at Baylor? Or better/more experienced teammates? Or isn’t a huge fan of the new coach? Or, after 4 years at Duke, just wants something different? Or it could be like the Dillon Gabriel situation.None of them would be taking any time from Kerwin Roach. Why did roach leave? $1.5million from Baylor apparently.
Can it be both?I can. As I said earlier. If the NIL money isn't available for PM to buy good players and keep them around, you can't blame him for the results.
I mean, OU essentially told Dillon Gabriel to leave because he wouldn’t start this season, even though most preseason rankings will have him as one of the two or three best QBs in America this season. I’m sure money plays a role for Roach but who knows if that figure is accurate. It could also be a matter of him not wanting to have to take a back seat to some incoming freshmen who are more talented and will likely be the focus of the offense.None of them would be taking any time from Kerwin Roach. Waldo and Moore were not raw athletes who lacked basketball IQ. They were our best players. I agree that sometimes teams with great athletes struggle because they lack skill or basketball smarts, but Soares and Moore absolutely don’t fit in that category. Both those guys had very nice all around games, and they also played incredibly hard. Neither is a great ball handler, but I don’t recall either of them making a lot of “dumb” mistakes.
$2.5 million should be plenty to put together an NCAA tournament roster. If he'd had any modicum of success after three years, he'd probably have more NIL funds, too.I can. As I said earlier. If the NIL money isn't available for PM to buy good players and keep them around, you can't blame him for the results.
Funny enough, I did a deep dive into their classes. They've had better classes in the past. Now granted, the top recruit coming in is supposed to be a can't miss prospect. So we'll see.Duke has an unreal class coming in and I’d guess some of the guys leaving know they might be losing playing time if they stick around.
Duke is getting shredded.
