MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Idk what our NIL situation is, but surely we have money leftover to get a lead guard.

Kind of feels like we get a decent big OR a good guard, but not both.
We just need to find and sign a true stud. Grant wasn’t athletic enough to be a bucket getter in the Big 12, and JM is way too small (and not a great athlete, either). When games bog down in conference play, which they always do, you need someone who can take over. There are plenty of guards available, but I have no idea if we are in on any of the difference makers.

“I was told by a source close to the recruitment that this process would not take very long, suggesting a decision to come within ten to fourteen days after entering the transfer portal. A source told me recently that Alabama, Oklahoma, and Louisville all made a push.

With the intel I currently have, I have placed an RPM for Kentucky transfer Ugonna Onyenso to ultimately choose Alabama.”

What our coaches are recruiting?

lol.

There are 1750 players in the portal. We have 3 spots left. Let’s stop acting like hooker bulldogs are getting offers
I mean this with the utmost respect...

At the same time, it is not like we beat out our two commits vs. Big Fish.

Jones - Butler, Rutgers
Elvis - College of Charleston (his contact list isn't earth shattering either)
Goodine (soon to be?) - Maybe Syracuse? No visits or contacts noted - with knee issues

Non-portal news, Dayton "Steph" Forsythe, dropped 55 today at Trae's gym vs RWE

RWE Oklahoma roster...

View attachment 1578

Trent Burns - '24 center committed to Mizzou. 7'3
Jeremiah Johnson - '24 guard committed to Oklahoma State
Rio Adams - '25 forward from Tulsa Hale. Offers from Mississippi State and North Texas
Elijah "Choppa" Moore - '24 guard committed to Syracuse
Jalil Bethea - '24 guard committed to Miami (FL)
Jaden Nickens - '25 guard from OKC Douglass....former OU WR commit.
Isaac Williams - '24 guard committed to A&M Corpus Christi
Carlsheon Young - '25 guard committed to Oklahoma State
Daquan Davis - '24 guard committed to Florida State
Nelson Neumann - '28 guard
Lavar Johnson - some old dude, probably mid 20s, that plays with them for some reason. Lol.

That tracks with the RWE guy from way earlier. Nice to have that pipeline if so

NBA All Star game level defensive effort in that one.
I know you are just being you, but to counter that "statement"

- He probably will only see 1-2 NBA defensive guards all year
- Do you think those guys wants a 6ft white dude balling on them? No, I can promise you effort was there.

(2nd can be echoed by most people who played competitive basketball AAU and up)

Just in case anyone was wondering if Rutgers and Butler were equals to OU since Covid (in regards to Jadon Jones recruitment):
