While it could go horribly, I think it’s perhaps a better chance to do well compared to where we have been (high variance). Just getting a bunch of guys who score (but not elite 3 point shooters) has not worked well. Especially as those scorers have come from lower levels and have proven not to be great defenders.

OU had how many weeks of a head start on UK? If it was just about the bag, OU would never have been in the conversation. Garrison didn't know what the UK bag was a week ago. Or two weeks ago. Or three weeks ago. And he still chose not to commit to OU at that time.

Both things can be true. It can be true he is probably at UK partially because of the money. It was can also be true that it was WAY more than the money that kept him away from OU.

I mean, if he's not a starter it does mean he's going to get to go against better competition every day in practice and that matters in terms of improvement. But at the same time just wow. You'd still think starting would matter to a kid. And it's not like he couldn't be an NBA guy with Oklahoma. So demoralizing

It’s a cash grab and that’s OK. But call it what it is.
 
It's amazing how many of our posters seem to know more about what is best for BG's future and development as a player. The kid just chose one of the best programs in America over a coach/program that can't get out of its own way, and people are acting like he is an idiot. Grow up, folks. If you ask any objective person with no ties to either program whether a guy should choose UK or OU, it seems like a pretty clear choice. Our football program can certainly swoop in late and "steal" some guys who had been recruited longer by lesser programs, so let's not act appalled when we are on the wrong side of this in basketball.

It's really not. It's called money. OU isn't there in basketball yet, nor will it be for sometime.
 
Kid is drama.. move on I guess. I just don't think we land a legit 5 for this season.. hope I'm wrong. Go spend that money on a legit PG or Robinson now.

And just because he won't start this year doesn't mean he might not start the following year. It's about money/NIL, but it's also about winning and player development. Pope might not have a bunch of PD skins on his wall, but UK usually finds a way to get guys to the NBA.

At this point, Moser has no history of producing NBA players, and his bigs at OU have been subpar.
