MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

Miles wanted to be done at the end of the week.

The only questions now are...

Stay home?

or

Did Moser actually pull it off?

There's no way Moser's going to steal a Bama kid away from Auburn, right?

I doubt it happens, but going to be really funny if they steal a Bama kid from Auburn and a Brooklyn kid from St. Johns.

You probably got laughed at by people who have zero idea what makes an NBA player.

Yeah, I don’t remember who it was, but you’ve been around awhile…I’m sure you remember all his naysayers. I always loved his game. He did struggle with shooting the 3 ball here consistently, but you always knew he had it in him.

I never thought he was an NBA dude. After the NCAA tourney against Suggs, I started to believe he could make an NBA roster. I never thought he'd be a starter and certainly not a top 3 player on a WCF team. Nobody expected that.

I loved him because he had shown his shooting in two seasons at WSU and then showed his overall game at OU. I thought he would be a very solid NBA player but didn’t quite expect him to be this good, this fast. A lot of college fans underestimate how important size is for a PG, and people also significantly underestimated his athleticism.

So, I decided to apply the now "patent-pending" TE4T rating scale to OU's roster with our newest editions + Miles/Richmond:

I feel like I need to add a penalty for lower competition. Like a .9 or .95 multiplier. Thoughts? (Goodine shouldn't be that high, I mean - probably should settle around Oweh-ish)
Any thought to taking team pace of play into account on the per-game totals? For example Long Beach State’s adjusted tempo is 24th per KenPom while Dayton’s is 334th, so it skews the numbers a bit.

Great question. Would probably have to look into doing something with the per40 numbers.

I will say, the (crude) calculation is just adding PER/Win shares/a combo of efficient shooting %s/ and a small effect on the point/assist/rebounds totals. There may be a way to incorporate ppp or pace somewhere in there. This may take some research, but I will absolutely look into it.

My nba evals have been poop since hollis price couldnt get a single look but for some reason john lucas iii from osu (who is 3 inches shorter) had like a decade long career.

Lol don’t just do it because I said it, I just wondered what all was accounted for. Admittedly I’m not the biggest stat guy because I think so many factors go unaccounted for but I’ve liked having your stuff as a reference for sure.

I always thought Willie Warren would have had a NBA career, but it just never worked out. I also thought Taj Gray had the ability, but I guess he just wasn’t quite big enough at the time? I also thought Skeeter Henry would have had more than just a cup of coffee in the league.
