Miles Reynolds visiting this week

Nice source Ada. ;)

Yeah, should have stuck with what I said yesterday. A gut feeling that includes a few basic facts is best sometimes. :ez-laugh:

Austin Trice, for example, another player our coaches were late to the dance on. He’s visiting KState from today through Saturday. After reading this article, I seriously doubt if he will make it on campus for his April 13th visit to OU. He’s still saying he plans to sign on the 11th, two days before his scheduled visit.

We should definitely take as many of these guards as we can get as grad transfers. I'd be a little surprised if Calixte would still commit to OU if Reynolds does but maybe the coaches can convince them they can play together. Would obviously both + Martin. Cunningham is more of a short shooter than a lead guard -- he didn't play the point for USC-Upstate but, like Calixte and Martin, he can shoot the 3 very well even though he's just 6'1".

I know you probably have some solid sources, but even they are bias. Just my take. See it when people talk football mostly.

I think it’s possible our coaches can convince Reynolds and Calixte to play together. Calixte is a true point guard. Reynolds is more of a combo guard.

Keep in mind, too, we still need a back up at the point next season. The only candidate for that position in my mind is Bieniemy, and he seems to be more comfortable at the two.

I don't think Trice would've helped much imo. Calixte is the one I like the most with Martin, but I understand not taking Martin if he's not immediately eligible.

Calixte is priority #1. Even though he played for a horrendous Maine team you have to assume he can dribble the ball up and down the court, which sadly OU needs right now.

Question for people close to the recruiting scene

Of the guys we are "in on" which are the most likely candidates to be Sooners next season?
I understand I am asking a speculative question, I'm just curious which players seem most likely to be Sooners?

I'd love to know as well. Lot of names have been thrown around

Aaron Calixte, grad transfer PG from Maine (scheduled to visit on the 13th) and Miles Reynolds, PG/SG grad transfer from U of the Pacific (Visiting this weekend).

Kris Martin, 6’ 6” wing, ORU transfer to Colorado State, sat out last year, now wants to transfer to OU after the CSU coach was fired. Martin will need to get a waiver from the NCAA before he can be an official transfer. He’ll have two years to play.

I was told when Trice was first being mentioned that there was no chance with him. I wasn't told why. I have no idea with Trice but many times it means they have a handler or decision maker.

All of these grad transfer guys are in high demand. Most have been offered by 20 schools or so. A few are even big time schools. We are looking at another guy if these two don't work out and that guy was called by Duke this week. The demand is high for the senior one and done.

Whos the duke guy? We need studs.

He is a nice player but he isn't Duke good it is just a sign of the times. Their point guard declared as a freshman and no chance of being drafted in the first round IMO.

Duke has been talking to Joe Cremo of Albany. Probably one of the top grad transfers up there with Ryan Taylor of Evansville.

Joe Cremo averaged 17.1 ppg, 3.5 apg, 4.1 rpg, 45.8% from 3 on 5.2 attempts per game, 81% ft shooter. 6'4 G.

Ada hit the nail on the head with Reynolds.
Sounds like a good start. At least he’s a back court player who has played well at the D1 level.
Joe C sounds like a heck of shooter.

Get Cremo and Taylor! ;)

I wouldn't come within 100 miles of this dumpster fire here in Norman if I were a senior looking for a title opportunity.

Sound familiar? It should! You are easily the most negative poster on this board.

Are we even in on Cremo? I hadn’t heard anything about us being in contact with him.

Ada,

I see your point, but he's got a point as well...maybe didn't say it quite right, but if my kid had a choice between Duke and OU, wouldn't even be a second thought.

Now, not sure if the kid has the opportunity at Duke or not...

I love OU but after this past season it's definitely got to be on a lot of kid's minds "what is going on at OU?" vs "I can't wait to get there".
