Muni

He won't be playing from what I hear. The diagnosis was correct and he hasn't reinjured himself. In the Northwestern game he felt it turn a little and he wasn't comfortable with it. He wasn't giving us much so they didn't play him again.
Some people are able to play through stuff better than others for sure. He has never been hurt before and it seems he is leery of going full speed until it feels totally normal. Hopefully that will be soon but don't look for them to play him until he is more assertive in his movements.

If Muni waits until it feels totally normal, he may not play again this season. I played through a number of ankle injuries. Most take a long time to heal. Truth is, some can take years to heal completely, if they ever do.

If you want to play bad enough, you have to suck it up and play through a little pain. I realize the pain threshold is not the same for everyone. But, OU’s medical staff will know what Muni should and should not do. Alex Brown is the best trainer in the business. I know him from his ECU days. There’s a reason why he has been at OU through several coaching changes. Muni needs to trust him if he wants to play.

meh. shoot him up with a placebo and send him out there. that will give him some confidence. how quickly people forget the old ways. talk him into feeling better to make it settle in.

I don't know if he has any future in the NBA or not, but he has to look out for himself. Everyone handles pain differently..get healthy

Yep. That’s how Austin Johnson was able to play. Very few members of this board now or back then have a clue what that kid went through.

To be honest, I don’t recommend pain meds and injections before a game and at the half for anyone, if that is what it takes to stay on the floor. I didn’t think it was wise when AJ did it, and I still don’t think it’s worth the risks. But he had multiple injuries during his OU career, including back problems which can be a greater risk.
