I'm paraphrasing, but this is the gist: "(ESPN Draft guru) Chad Ford has Buddy Hield at #29 in his latest mock draft. Are you kidding me!? Time to update that Mr. Ford. Buddy Hield is way better than that!"

For all the disappointment expressed on this board about Vitale doing this game, I'm not sure he could have been any more complimentary toward Hield, Coach Kruger and OU basketball in general. I realize some people he'll never make happy, but I thought he did a great job. His only "dig" was toward the football team when he said: "I wish their football team played this hard the other day."

Yep. I think Dick's vocal tone and catch phrases are annoying, but otherwise I'm fine with him. He also appeared to privately congratulate Buddy after the game, as well.

I actually didn't mind Dickie V. last night. Brent was actually more annoying to me. He's supposed to do the play-by-play, but too often I was left wondering what was going on because Brent was waxing eloquent about some inane BS. That's always been my problem with him in football and basketball over the years. Rather than just doing the play by play, he wants to make it about himself.

Of course, Fran Drescher and Gilbert Godfried could have announced that game and I don't think it could have diminished beauty of how the guys on both sides played last night.

I yelled at the TV a couple of times last night. "What the hell is going on, you idiots?"

"So, Monday night, huh? Kansas and Oklahoma staged one of the all-timers at Allen Fieldhouse on Monday, a three-overtime classic so good we may or may not have spent an hour today googling how to remove a digital file from our DVR and upload it to Dropbox. We need to have this game at our disposal forever. "

How do you do that?

I think the only way to do it, is to purchase a burner, play the game and record it. If anyone knows another way, please tell me.

No, you can't get a DVD big enough to hold that game in HD, I don't think. The only way to retain it is to save it to a storage device as a file.

Vitale irritates me by talking over the action and Mushmouth doesnt have enough sense to fill in.

They were annoying as usual last night, but they gave OU some much needed respect throughout the game.

I especially liked Brent's comment about "trusting his friends in the desert"....thought that was gold.:D

I got this off another site, but we finally learned what Dick Vitale said to Buddy Hield after the game...

ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale had a personal moment with Oklahoma star guard Buddy Hield after Hield’s 46-point effort against Kansas Monday night.

When asked about what Vitale said to him in the post game, Hield quipped that he was too tired to remember. Tuesday, Vitale went to his Periscope to fill in the mystery.

“I said to him, Buddy your performance was sensational and you’re way better than what I thought you were,” Vitale said. “I knew you were good, but tonight you showed me you were even better than what I thought.

“Keep your head up, keep battling and you’ve got a great, great future,” Vitale said.

Those are two of the greatest of all time!!! Anybody that has a problem with them has their own personal problems. Do I agree with everything they say? Of course not. Can they get on my nerves? Of course. But so could Howard Cosell, and I'd give about anything to hear him call just one more game. Enjoy those two while they can still do games, in my eyes they are treasures!!!!

I agree as they are both institutions who have broadcast many epic games over the decades.

Nahh.. thats not it.

I'm an amateur professional lip reader, and this is what I see:

"G'game, just super!.

We met. We met when I was twelve. You're way better than when i was twelve. way better"

So ... anyone who disagrees with you has personal problems?

Count me in that group, I guess. I'd walk a mile to avoid hearing either Musberger or Vitale do a game.

Where would you recommend I go for professional help to address my personal problems?

I thought Dick did the Sooners and Buddy well. It was better than I anticipated.

I agree. They spew fodder. Al McGuire was the best.

Better than I anticipated, too, but my expectations were exceedingly low. I can't stand the guy's work even when he's not showing bias.

For the record, I'm no huge "Dickie V" fan. I used to appreciate his love and hype of the college game. However, his careless, indifferent and oblivious attitude during Blake Griffin's amazing 2008-2009 season left a bad taste in my mouth. I was in the majority of those who weren't thrilled to hear that he was doing the color for the OU-KU game. I have to confess, though, that for at least 3 hours, he won me over with how he hyped OU and Buddy Hield. What's even better is that every game he does from here on out this season, he'll be mentioning the name "Buddy Hield". I can live with that :D.

I never thought he was indifferent toward OU in that season.

I've been watching college basketball a long time. I can remember some of the old Raycom broadcasts with Jay Randolph and Gary Thompkins. Every broadcast was slanted to KU/MU/KSU in those day and the other 5 Big 8 schools were an afterthought. So, I appreciate the games that have the big dogs doing the broadcasting and some east coast folks will only watch big games. Dick Vitale doing the color on a broadcast is a big game.
