....began last Friday night when my wife got a call from our grandson telling her that his school, defending Texas state champion Mansfield Timberview, had won their basketball game in a tournament. He also mentioned that they would play the winners of the game after theirs the next night. Me overhearing her talking, asked who was playing and come to find out it would be the winner of Fort Bend Elkins & Denton Guyer. Then I find out the game was at Mansfield Summit High, which is only 5 minutes away from our house. Yes, I loaded up the wife & we went down the street to see De'Vion Harmon & company play ball!! We got there in the middle of the 2nd quarter, and Guyer was already ahead 42-12! Needless to say they won handily, and faced Timberview, who only lost one player from last years team, on Saturday night. We did see all of that game, which I thought would be a great one. It wasn't. Guyer's size (6'8",6'8",6'10") and Harmon way outmatched Timberview, but they are still a good team. The final 2 teams played 5 games in 3 days! This tournament had 32 teams from ALL over Texas, called the Mansfield Spring Creek Barbeque Classic. And the MVP of it went to.............. De'Vion Harmon!!!

I've been keeping up with him on Twitter and a ton of scouts have been saying how good he is and has been in these big tournaments last few weeks. These tournaments all have a TON of high end recruits and I keep hearing Harmon's name more than any as standing out. I too hope we can keep him committed.

How did Jalen Wilson look? He and De'Vion Harmon have both been to visit OU numerous times together. As our friend AdaSooner can attest, Wilson's mother is from Ada and his family are Sooner fans.

I understand the "blue bloods" are starting to recruit both of them.

I hope that someone is sharing with young Mr. Harmon the national press that TY is already receiving. You don't have to go to a blue blood to make an impact. OU's crimson blood is quite sufficient if you have the talent (as he certainly seems to be).

Wilson looked good, has a nice shot and range. Hit several from 3 and probably has a little better all around game of the bigs, but they all hit from 3. They have the type of team that can go undefeated. Every shot that goes up there are at least two bigs in the lane to rebound, all three are starters, when one comes out there’s no drop off. Adding Harmon, which can dribble anywhere and dish or score, makes them a great team. They look like a college team, and fun to watch!
