Name One Thing...

Grooms came closer to equaling White last season than he is given credit for. He averaged 6.7 ppg to Quannas' 8.1, and his assist-to-turnover ratio was a smidge better than QW's.

Please tell me you did not just make this comparison?

Shooting percentages and shot volume matters in a comparison like this. PPG might be one of the most worthless stats around when comparing two players.

Not to mention Quannas was a great defensive pg. I just don't get that comparison at all, especially when you consider their respective roles on each team.

I always respect your opinion/posts Skyvue but I can't ever compare Grooms to White. Quannis didn't average a lot of points per game, but teams couldn't sag off him or he would make them pay. He was a threat every time he shot and his defense was spectacular. Also, as WT mentioned, he was a lockdown defender.

Quannis is probably the 2nd best PG at OU in my lifetime behind Ricky Grace, IMO. And, that's saying something -- Bo Overton, Jan Pannell, John Ontjes were all pretty good players too. I know I'm missing someone.

Best point guard at OU ever is Mookie Blayblock. He was a steal machine.
