NCAA to vote on new rule that would probably limit graduate transfers

Beyond stupid, which means they'll probably do it.

NCAA -- "we want to reward academic performance"

The world -- " you've got a rule that rewards students who finish their degrees before they finish their eligibility."

NCAA -- " we do? Let's find a way to punish them."

Saying they need to finish their masters in one year???

The ncaa is stupid.

How about punishing duke, Kansas, Kentucky, UNC for all their cheating? Academic fraud and paying players is ok (for some) but grad transfers are bad?

Freaking hypocrites.

Since the entire reason the rule exists in the first place is to allow a kid that is graduating and wants to get a masters in a degree that his current school doesn't offer to transfer freely to go after that masters, I have ZERO problem putting something in place that actually ensures they are doing this.

This was a loophole that was "brought to light" in recent years with kids being able to earn college credit in HS, and thus graduate early. Probably less than 5% of these kids are actually transferring for academic reasons. I'd be fine closing the loop hole altogether.
