NCAA Tournament thread

Nova is going to destroy Tech, but that is because they are heads and shoulders better than every team in this tournament.

Kansas should beat Duke. Duke's guards are not very good, they've just gotta keep Doke out of foul trouble.

We already know the Big 12 was the toughest conference this year

That will just mean they won’t have the best individual team

Kansas-Duke will be really interesting because Kansas has so many guards and can really shoot it but they're going to have a really difficult time with Duke's bigs. I disagree with you that Duke's guards aren't good. Allen is inconsistent to be sure, and Duval isn't a very good shooter, but Trent is. And Duval is excellent as the primary ball handler. Defensively, they're not good individually but are much better playing the zone they've been playing for the last month or so. Kansas will have to move the ball really well to shoot over Duke's length and shoot it very well. I would think Duke will push their zone way out to the perimeter trying to force Kansas to drive straight into Duke's shot blockers.

Can Kansas get into the middle and force the perimeter defenders to collapse so they can kick it back out for the 3? If Duke's defenders stay disciplined, they'll stay home and it will really be tough for Kansas to shoot it. And if they do get open looks, will KU make them? Duke, on the other hand, will throw it inside to Bagley and Carter and KU will have to collapse to help guard them. Will Duke's bigs be able to find open shooters and, then, will those guys make shots?

Really interesting game. 1 team who plays basically with 4 guards, and the other who often has 3 guys 6'11" on the court at the same time. One plays nearly all man. The other is nearly all zone. How much zone will Self have to play to defend Duke's bigs and how well will they do it? Should be just a great game.
 
I didn’t think I really cared who won between Loyola and KSt but as I watch it I find myself pulling for Loyola.

Funny. My KSt friends don’t like Weber either. I defend him and think he is a pretty good coach. I do get tired of his whiny faces though.

Loyola forcing him to make lots of whiny faces today though.

KSU got crushed but they are going to be very good next year. Just about everyone returns
 
glorious. just hope the big stage doesn’t get them. helps it is in san antonio. but awesome nonetheless.

I think they have a couple of seniors but they don’t play much. That actually gives them the chance to improve their roster.
 
Nova just won by 12 against a damn good team despite shooting 4-24 from 3. Hard to imagine anyone taking them down.
 
I feel like KU can get their shots easier than Duke. They need to work that play in the lane for the shot/lob option every time in the second half. Also allows them to potentially have another guy crash the boards. The question is whether they have the patience to do it.
