Thoughts? I have mixed feelings. I kind of liked the fast paced nature of having several games all happening at once and the live cut ins.

NEW YORK -- The NCAA tournament's new television deal will allow for more staggered starts of games, so all of those buzzer-beaters aren't happening at the same time.

The contract signed in April with CBS and Turner Sports means all games would be televised live nationally for the first time.

Because Turner's three cable channels don't have the same commitments to the nightly news and other regular programming as CBS, the tournament games will be more spread out starting this season.

That includes prime-time games on TBS, TNT and truTV during the first Sunday of the tournament.

The networks, which announced the full schedule Thursday, signed a 14-year, $10.8 billion deal as the NCAA decided to expand from 65 only to 68 teams, not 96.

I dont' really like it but at least we basically get to see every game we want on TV.

It will only seem strange the first year. Football wasn't on Saturday night a few years ago but now it seems natural. The Bowls used to all be on News Year Day (I do miss that, but getting to watch virtually all of the big games is cool).

The complete mayhem of 2-3 awesome games ending at once was one of my favorite aspects of the tournament. It was a lock that there was going to be at least one good game on. I was hoping that it would stay like that and the add TV channels would just make it easier to watch multiple games at once. Its amazing what one little TV splitter can do on football Saturdays and was hoping for the same effect in March.

I, too, have mixed feelings about it.
Sounds like it should work out decently though.

I like that every game will be shown on tv now instead of watching some games online.

it's a great thing. no more squeezing games in on sunday just so cbs can get to 60 freakin minutes at 6pm. no more missing the second game of the day on the west coast. the great finishes will still be there, but now i can watch those games in their entirety, and not on a 15 inch monitor. just need trutv hd now, though.

Agreed, it will be for the better.

BTW, 60 minutes is an awesome show.

lol, i love it too when it doesn't depress the hell out of me. but the fact they never would pre-empt it or push back the start time for two weeks out of the year drove me crazy. and then they only have one game to start the day, usually duke, forcing them to squeeze in so many second round games in a four hour time period.

Basetball would be a lot better if they would just give Duke the death penalty.

So now, instead of having to rely on CBS to switch you to the ending you want to see you have the power to change the channel and do it yourself.

Seems okay to me...

Exactly. It's not like there's only going to be one game on at a time now...

I am excited for the change.

March Madness on Demand was cool but it wasn't available for Mac.
