They are 16-8, with some extremely narrow losses.

Lost at Kansas by 3, at Baylor by 4, at Tech by 1, and at Mizzou by 8. They are a few bounces of the ball away from possibly being more like 18-6 and competing for a top 5 spot in the league.

They havent won a conference road game in a few years, but as mentioned above they are right there to the end with good teams (outside of Tech). NU seems to play to the level of competition.

They are bigger than OU all over the floor, which is really the biggest thing concerning the matchup tonight, and they are a very good defensive team.

PG: Lance Jeter (6'3'' 220)
SG: Caleb Walker (6'4'' 205)
SF: Toney Mccray (6'6'' 210)
PF: Brandon Ubel (6'10'' 240)
C: Brian Diaz (6'11'' 245)/ Andre Almeia (6'10'' 320)

They kind of remind me of something bocabull refers to with NBA teams. They have 5 nickels but no quarters. All of these starters average around 10 ppg, but their leading scorer (Jeter) averages 11. The only have one other guy in double digits at 10 (Diaz). Pretty strange team, really.

Pretty tough matchup for OU tonight, but I think OU will win because I have no confidence in Nebraska winning a road game. If it were in Lincoln I would pick them by 10-15, but you can't pick a team that hasnt won on the road in conference in 2-3 years.

Their style of play seems to be a pretty good match up for OU, meaning that a slow, grind it out, low scoring game would give the Sooners a much better chance to pull off the victory. They really need to keep the Huskers off the offensive glass and not allow easy points in transition, especially after turnovers.

All Doc Sadler teams play good defense too.

That's exactly what I was thinking.. Low scoring is what we do best

Is Nebraska is salty they should cut the sodium out of their diets.

if i were sadler, i'd start diaz at the 4 and almeida at center. we have no one to stop almeida. honore is our best shot. i hope he's ready, cuz he's gonna get worked like an 8 year old in taiwan.

Yikes, if they put Diaz at the 4 OU is in trouble. Who is gonna guard him? Cade? He is a pretty good post player and is 6'11'' 240. I guess OU would have to go with Fitz and Honore'.

Guarding people is a two way street. I'd take my chances with Cade on the perimeter versus Diaz. Maybe Nebraska will make it to the NIT.

almeida is a monster. i like watching him, but hopefully ou can exploit him tonight. as has been mentioned. ou doesn't really have anyone that can guard him, nor is he capable of guarding any of ou's mobile bigs. should be fun.

true. doc's not going to go with my suggestion, but almeida should play as much as his legs will allow. i just think if they did go with diaz and almeida at the 4/5, cade and fitz would be in foul trouble pretty early. they present such a mismatch inside, and our guys are going to have their hands full trying to stay out of foul trouble. think steve moore at missouri, but worse. hopefully fitz's jumper is on so he can drag whoever is guarding him out of the paint. and i'd like to see cade go with a bevy of mid-range jumpers as well.

If NU goes big they'll likely have to play some of that match-up zone.

Almeida is the slowest human being I've ever seen on a basketball court...that is all...

Cade has probably hit less than 10 mid-range jumpers in his 4 year career here... 3 or layup, usually.

I loved watching Almeida play against Mizzou. Probably the opponent most ill-suited to play against Missouri I've ever seen.

I could not be happier Nebraska is leaving the Big 12 for basketball. They don't help our RPI, but they're good enough at what they do to frustrate the hell out of almost anyone, and Sadler's style is so diametrically opposed to Anderson that it's particularly effective against us.

I hope they arent too salty!

I wanna see a win tonight and it's only been the second game i've been able to attend this year...

My friend and I are taking our 3 yr old boys...they cant be up there crying because of an OU loss...

Hate playing Nebraska.

They have 16 wins and are assured of playing 7 more games. They have a legitimate chance to win 6 of those games (I doubt they do that well - the other is against Texas). I think winning 4 is very possible, especially if they beat OU tonight (I hope they don't). They have road games against OU, CU and ISU. They have home games against Texas, KSU and Missouri. They will almost certainly have a first round game in the Big XII against a team that is beatable (OU, OSU, CU, Tech or KSU - KU, Texas, A&M and probably Missouri will not play on the first day and Baylor will likely play ISU). Nebraska has work to do but the NCAA Tournament is still possible for Nebraska.

They havent won a conference road game in a few years

Does the loss tonight eliminate Jeff for COY honors in the Big 12?
