New Bracketology came out this morning..

And he has OU as a 9 seed?!

:facepalm

I thought for sure we'd move up this week, after smacking Baylor.

I'm obviously biased, but that's a nasty potential 2nd round matchup for whichever 1 seed it would be, assuming Hield is back, Pledger stays relatively hot, and Grooms plays like this.

He ought to start watching a game now and then.

Lack of quality wins (OSU and KU are the only two) is going to hurt OU come seeding time.

I'd actually welcome a marquee matchup in the 2nd round. I don't think this OU team is going to make a ton of noise in the Dance. We have a couple of nice wins, but we really haven't won a lot of games against top 25 teams. Give me a big name in round 2, and hopefully we can pull an upset, should we make it past the first round. If ever there is a year I don't really care about matchups or seeds, it is this year.

No issue with a nine seed given our current resume, strong schedule, no big wins away from Lloyd Noble, no glaring losses.

Would love to play a #1 seed in the second round if we get through. People talk about bringing a program back, you do it by winning big games. Avoiding playing #1 seeds isn't going to help, have to embrace the challenge.

If we take care of business the rest of the way..we should move up to a 7 seed

I want to just be back in the postseason. I was in a hospital room watching the NCAA opening rounds last year and there was no OU :(

(although it was spectacular to see Texas and Mizzou go down in their first games. tee hee)

If that's Lunardi's then he's been against OU the whole season, I ain't no bracket expert but I think if the season ended today we would be a 7/8.

From a quality win standpoint, beating Baylor doesn't really do anything for you.

They're currently #64 in the RPI.

OU needs top 50 RPI wins away from Norman to move up.

OU has the 2nd best winning percentage, the best RPI and the best strength of schedule of all his 9 seeds.

Lets just hope OU wins out and proves him wrong.

If OU wins out they will move up. Hopefully we face OSU in KC. Should be 2-0 against them, but 2-1 will help the seeding. I have no doubt on a neutral floor OU wins that game going away. When all is said and done I won't be surprised to see OU as a 5/6 seed.

Until mid-February, Lunardi was pretty much on record as saying he thought OU was improved, but they are still a bubble team on the outside looking in. He has changed his tune on that initial analysis, but I just don't think he's impressed overall with our team....primarily because this team won't "wow" you. But our resume speaks for itself....thus he will have us in the bracket, yet not as high of a seed as we think we deserve. And it will be that way with him up until Selection Sunday.

Lunardi's seeds are always off because he just tries to get the one seeds correct and the last four in correct. With a top 10 SOS and top 20 rpi we will not be worse then a seven seed. Quality wins are more important for bubble teams and we shouldn't be near that if we continue to take care of business.
