I've not been able to find much on who Capel might be looking at, does anyone have any info on who might be in the picture?

The only two names that I have heard mentioned were Neil Dougherty and Bobby Lutz, and those were weeks ago. Hopefully we will hear something soon.

Perhaps there should be some sort of wording in the contracts outlining restrictions on cell phone usage? :facepalm

Bump their salary a couple of hundred a month and make them buy their own phones. I don't ever want to hear of another cell phone episode at OU as long as I live.

Lutz did a decent job at Charlotte.

Where is Dougherty from?

One has to wonder if this impending NCAA stuff is making it hard for Coach Capel to find/attract the calibar of coaches that he wants to add to his staff....

I don't think there is anything to wonder about - that is exactly what is happening. Still, I would think if guys like Lutz and Dougherty weren't currently employed, it wouldn't exactly be a career-breaker for them to join the staff.

Personally, I would like to see us hire someone connected in and able to recruit the State of Texas with one of the hires. I wouldn't know who best fits this profile. With the second hire, I would like someone with a little gray hair and a lot of coaching experiance. Maybe Jeff's dad would come in as an assistant, or Bobby Lutz, would be OK.

It looks as if Jeff is going to move Aaron Goodman into one assistant position. I don't know anything about him, but if Jeff likes him then that's OK with me. If so, then we would only have one assistant position and a director of basketball operations position to fill. I would like to see Tommy Griffin as director of basketball. This has absolutely nothing to do with Blake and Taylor. I have watched his high school teams play for longer than some of you have been alive and he is as good a high school coach as I have seen. Pretty much ask anyone that knows him, he is as good a man as you could ever find as well. I don't think TG would take an assistant position as it would involve too many hours and too much traveling and would interfere with his following the careers of his kids.

With only one assistant position to fill, I would like to see a Texas recruiter.

Bobby Lutz got hired at Iowa State, so he's out.

:clap

I like Goodman, so I'm glad he was given this opportunity.
