Have any of you seen Wichita State or Northern Iowa play? I am wondering if they are really both top 15 teams.

Northern Iowa has really good computer numbers (i.e. #11 in Kenpom, OU is #10) and they gave Wichita State a beatdown earlier this season. Their defensive and offensive efficiency numbers are similar to OU. They won some tight games on the road. They play at a very slow/deliberate pace (#348 of 351 teams) which leads to alot of low-scoring games. But they shoot a really high% from the floor (#7 in eFG%) which means that they seem to be pretty good in the halfcourt. The achilles heel looks to be rebounding. If they miss, they don't get many offensive boards. They appear to be a quality mid-major.

But candidly, I've only seen clips of them....so all I have is computer numbers.

Watched them twice, as the #'s indicate, they are similar to OU. They don't blow you away while watching them, but neither does OU if you aren't used to seeing them play much. Seth Tuttle is a skilled post player, can really effect the game from different areas.

I've watched UNI a little. You're absolutely right. Nothing they do jumps out at you and screams "this is a top 10 team." But given the way they play defense, they'll give anyone not named Kentucky their money's worth in the tournament. I'd hate to see OU wind up in their bracket because UNI's grind it out style of play really seems to give our guys fits, and Tuttle would be a matchup nightmare.
