Next Year...

Justin Hite saying OU is out on Bolden, so take that into account

Pledger could start for this team. And we had M'Baye as well back then.

Over which player? He is not starting at PG or over Hield. Do you play him over Woodard at the two? I don't you do. His best season he shot 42% from 3 point range. But he was more like a 35/36% three point shooter for his career. He could not score other than three pointers and he doesn't handle the ball as well as Woodard.

Pledger was a good player but I wouldn't start him over any of these guys. I would love to bring him off the bench to make3 pointers.

I'm not saying I would start him. I'm saying he could start. He does bring a height advantage along with Cousins and Hield which would bring a little better defense. During Cousins and Woodards shooting slump, he may have not been on a slump. He can shoot the ball and he would benefit a lot more with better guards surrounding him. Woodards 3 point shooting won't be as good being the main guard next year and not getting very many open 3's. Also, you could start him in place of Lattin some games and really stretch the floor out.

I'm just saying, he 'could' start...not that he 'would' start.

Pledger would play over Walker, that is for sure. He was only a soph or jr in LK's first year so that Pledger wouldn't have started this year but maybe the Sr version though I lean to him coming off the bench. Hield, Cousins and Woodard are all better players than he was on both ends.

M'Baye was on that team but he sat out that season. He only played 1 season and that was LK's 2nd season.

Many on this board think he will shirt, but Doolittle will play immediately next year. Mark it down.

Honestly...He's not on this team...so its nothing more than a debate. His shot didn't always fall but he was also the main guard on that team. If Hield was next to him, he would find it easier to get open shots. If you have to admit, Pledger wasn't surrounded by a good supporting cast of guards.

Where is he going to get minutes?

He will get them at the 4. The staff believes he is a gem. They will need his rebounding ability, and his playmaking for others from the 4. This has been a disappointing area for the staff this season. I'm not saying he starts, but I am saying he factors right from the start. There is zero truth they plan or want him to shirt. This comes from a solid source...they want him to play immediately.

They want everybody to play. Problem is, not everybody is going to, and it's likely not everybody will produce at a level that allows us to keep them on the floor (Odomes this year).

If he is more D1 ready than Freeman, he might play. If not, I don't see it. Buford is going to play at the 4. I guess I could see a battle between Freeman and Doolittle for the backup minutes. Guy that's been on campus for almost 4 months at this point probably has the advantage though. And I don't see any chance all three of those guys get major minutes next year.

You are probably hearing this from somebody in Doolittle's camp. Do you really think LK told him that he expects him to redshirt, or that it's an option? That would be sending the wrong message. You tell the kid he is going to play and that you need him, and you evaluate things again in the Fall. It'll be a lot easier to suggest a redshirt when the kid sees for himself that he might not be ready. Or he shows up and earns that playing time.

From what little I've seen, he should play over Freeman.

Lol...this comes from being connected to the program. I don't post without merit. Of course they "want" everyone to play. I know this...they feel he could have helped them this year with his skill set. Also, kids don't leave his high school without being ready to produce early. 6 of them playing division 1 right now...all starting.

I agree that Doolittle is going to play. He is a stud physically and moves really well. He can dish the ball from the 4 spot. Would be a fantastic high post against zone defense.
