Mbuye, Neal, Bennett, Spangler, Elliott and Hamilton inside. We have seen and know the first 4 can play and Elliott and Hamilton sound pretty good to me.

Outside, we have clark, buddy, issah, jelon and Jordan Woodard. We know the first 4 can play and I've heard good things about woodard. I like the versatility too, 3 of the 5 can play point if needed, and 4 of the 5 have the size and skill set to play on the wing.

Then, you have cole and I don't know where he fits in, just haven't seen him enough. But, all in all, it looks pretty good, even if we lose mbuye, which I doubt, based upon what I have seen so far.

I REALLY, REALLY wish we could sign someone who is just a lights-out shooter to replace Pledger. I know Heild, Hornbeak, etc. are all capable shooters, but it'd be nice to just have a pure shooter like Heslip from Baylor.

Also, I'd like to see us sign some bigger perimeter guys in the future.

Right now, we have clark at 6'5 who is pretty solid outside.

But so many teams now have big SF's that are very versatile and can play multiple positions.

Neal is similar, but just not on that lethal level that we need our versatile slashers to be imo.

Just a thought.

All-in-all, our team next season will be very solid, and a legitimate 10 deep

Im sorry, but from what i see from Neal in the past im not excited about counting on him to be a post threat. We know very little about bennett since he is red shirting, and I havent seen much of spangler.

Insice next year is a question mark whether we want to agree or not.

We have mbaiye, then everything is will be a question mark and we have to hope someone steps up.

Hamilton is coming from juco right? We havent had any luck at all on jucos, I remember guys all excited to get the kid from Utah.

Yes next year seems to be a question mark, and we have not had great success the past few years with the
Juco Guys coming in. However, this man:krugs will be the difference! Period! Therefore, I have faith!

It is obviously very early, but Neal has looked much improved so far this year. I feel much better about his ability to play significant minutes in the post than I would have a month ago. We'll see if he can be consistent the rest of the year.

We know that the first 4 can play??? Other that M'baye...the others haven't proven anything. Bennett is redshirting b/c he can't even beat out Arent. Spangler will be improved but he was at the bottom of Gonzagas bench last year. All Neal does is shoot 3's.

We are losing 5 seniors next year and 3 of those are Fitzgerald, Osby and Pledger. We are preseason ranked 7th this season...Theres no way that we should be better next year over this year.

I disagree. The hardest one to replace in my eyes is Osby. Scorers like Pledge are easier to find than bigs anyday. Esp with the 3 frosh play bigtime mins, they will be light years ahead next year than they will be this year.

LOL, Wut?

I thought someone had posted that Bennett had requested a redshirt.

I thought someone had posted that Bennett had requested a redshirt.

He did, plus the coaches said he was too good to waste on being the #2 or #3 big off the bench. Saying he redshirted because he couldn't beat out Arent is 100% wrong.

If I am not mistaken Spangler was hurt a few games during the season, but if he was at the bottom of the bench at Gonzaga, how did get 21 minutes PT in the second round of the NCAA Tourn. against WV and had the most rebounds between both teams and from everything I have read, he was going to be an impact player this year for Gonzaga.

I agree that Neal has looked much improved this season, but I don't think he has the size to be effective in the post once we start playing teams with any size. It's a shame if he were maybe two inches taller he'd be a wonderful post player.

I don't think Spangler was at the bottom of Gonzaga bench last year. I think he was hurt 4 or 5 games, but anyone who plays 21 min. in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tour. against WV and has more rebounds than anyone would not be at the bottom of a bench. I have also heard that Spangler was going to be an impact player for Gonzaga this year if he would have stayed. As far as Bennett redshirting because of not seeing minutes because of Arent has no merit. I think LK is looking at what he has right now and also looking at the coming years.

That's what I thought someone said. Thanks. Just from the little we saw in the scrimmages, I'm pretty excited about Bennett's potential.

But so many teams now have big SF's that are very versatile and can play multiple positions.

Is this really true? Maybe on the elite teams, but I'd guess there aren't many teams where OU would be at a severe disadvantage by starting Hield at the 3.

I actually prefer a big guard there. I think it's easier to find a 6'3-6'5 guard that is good, than it is to find a 6'7 guy that is truly a SF or wing. And I'd rather start a good guard, than a mediocre SF. I think a lot of teams play those true SF types at the 4. Like OU did with Selvy off the bench.

Just my take. I really have no idea what LK is looking to do, long term. He may want a big 3 based on the recruitment of guys like Henry and Bolden. But he also may have wanted to play those guys at the 4, who knows.

Not saying our interior next year is Top 10 quality, but this is not even close to the truth.

You are 100% correct. Consider the source and you'll know why the intent was to downplay any recruit Kruger brings in.

Just remember you said that next year when it happens.

Having guys that are invested in the coach's system makes all the difference in the world. Some of Kelvin's teams should have never sniffed the NCAA's on talent alone. I am trusting the idea that LK know's what type of team he is trying to build, and he no intention of regressing in year 3 of the project.
