no apologies here, time to shoot the wounded horse

Again, Jeff is one season away from coaching us to the Elite 8. Jeff has earned his share of criticism this year, but equating him to John Blake suggests you're not interested in having a serious conversation about it.

To the poster who asked when you could fire him, here is what I am willing to accept:

Next year, show me a team that plays the right way, one that hustles, one that plays tough defense, has character, dives on the floor for loose balls and has pride for its school. I even will accept - not like, but accept - not making postseason again as long as there are strong signs that we were rebuilding this thing the right way.

The next season after that, we have to be back in the NCAA tourney or you probably have to make the change
.

I can agree with this provided all the offcourt shenanigans don't happen. If we continue to have kids arrested for stealing, or players accepting money from agents with an asst. coach involved then it's time to move on immediately.

There are not many coaches out there that have never had a losing season, even the great ones have them from time to time...would you compare them to Blake as well?

I didn't just say a losing season. I said the worst season in 30 years. I personally would argue this season was worse than the 80/81 season because at least that team showed some life down the stretch of the season. I would say this season was the worst in over 40 years (back to 68/69).

The same for football...96 was not only the first losing season in 31 years, it was the worst season in 60 years (lost to Tulsa, KU, TCU, San Diego State all in the same season). The only saving grace was they beat Texas, osu, and hapless Baylor.

Correct. You said earlier no other comparisons existed other than color of skin, so I provided a valid one.

I'll also concede Blake never had a season remotely close success-wise as Capel had in 08/09. No question about that.

...or the 06/07, or the 07/08,...

Get the picture? NO COMPARISON...

I've tried to find it and get accused of playing the race card, but these guys are so disparately different it boggles my mind. Capel and Blake have both experienced a losing season, they have this in common with pretty much every coach in the history of every sport.

He's probably our best player next year so you'll love him next year.

I know that some on this board may see this as blasphemy, but I don't believe that Cade will be our best player. As long as he is able to return, Tiny will probably be our best player.
