No toughness

No leaders on the team.. they're happy with being average to slightly above average..

The problem I see is when things go south, we have certain players who try to take it into their own hands solely and try and bite off more than they can chew with a lot of one on one that ends in turnovers or bad shots. They need to be able to focus during a run like that and run team offense.

That is a pretty harsh judgment. We got hurt inside on defense and on the boards. That missed rebound on the KU free shot was a game changer. Maybe as much as a 5 point swing.

Also our lack of depth is still a factor. We have got to get more out of Booker and Lattin on a consistent basis. We were probably a little tired coming down the stretch. Missed too many open shots.

The cold spell in the first half was a killer. Lot of space to make up. And they were hitting everything they put up. We also had a lot of loose balls that we just barely missed.

We are still missing some key ingredients needed to be an elite team.

This has been a problem all year long. We are not strong with the ball...whether it be a rebound or a loose ball. And many times, not coming up with those 50/50 balls makes all the difference in the world....ugh.

It was over the back and a lane violation by Oubre. He crossed the line before the ball hit the rim.

We have 6 losses, 4 of them by 7 points or less, all of which we had great shots to win coming down the stretch. We are not a few players away from being an elite team, we are a few brain cells away from being an elite team. We beat Creighton, WU, and KSU, we are tied for first in the Big 12 with a top 10 ranking and a 15-3 record (losses @WVU, Wisconsin and @KU).

As it is, we're borderline top 25 after this week with a 12-6 record and in 7th place in the league. Basketball is a game of slim margins, and we are on the losing side of EVERY slim margin.

12-6 is pretty sobering. But you are what your record says you are.

Could easily be 12-7, 3-4 after Saturday, with a tough road game at Baylor. We have a shot to go on a pretty good run after that though, hopefully we take advantage.

Very well said. The season isn't over, but we sure aren't making it easy on ourselves. As the great Bill Parcells once said...."you are what you are".

Would you guys be happier if we played every Little Sisters of the Poor team in preseason?

6 losses is a lot at this point...we'd need to go on some 10 straight W run for a shot at Big 12 title

The team needs to put together two halves in a row and much of these discussions would be nonexistent.

I'd argue it took a little toughness to battle back to take the lead last night.

physically and mental

What?

Down 20 points in Lawerence in front of one of the best crowds in college basketball, a mad KU team and after they hit 8 3's in a row - and the Sooners actually come back to lead late in the game.

No toughness? Seriously?

Now can you argue OU had poor shot selection a couple of questionable calls and allowed a couple of offensive rebounds down the stretch - YES. To question a team's toughness after making that comeback smacks of someone who didn't really pay attention to the game

The only thing about our 'toughness' I'll question is our ability to get 50-50 balls. Kansas got way too many important loose balls last night, like the one Greene ended up hitting a big three off of.

But a soft team doesn't come back last night. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap. Oubre and Alexander were top 20 players for a reason and it showed last night.
