Last time this happened was February to March of 2011.

Prior to the season I was saying that folks needed to temper their expectations. Most seemed to think we would make the tournament no problem. And that was assuming that we would have our best player and senior leader. This team is a bunch of freshmen and sophomores with no Woodard.

I still think this team will find its footing and be considerably more competitive and be a team nobody wants to play.

Agree, but it's going to be too little too late. Our big 12 schedule did us no favors either. Baylor and Kansas in our first four games + two road games. For a painfully young team, we haven't been able to get any comfortable footing. The Texas tech game at home is really our first opportunity.

Then we go to Morgantown and Play Iowa state at home. If we get to 2-5 or better after those games, I would be shocked. The big 12 is good and we just can't seem to find a way.

Plus some new assistant coaches.

I agree. We're going to win a couple games no one expects us to and even a team others don't want to play in the Big 12 tournament.

Kentucky makes the tournament every year with only freshman and sophomores :D

Actually they even missed it a couple years ago and then lost to Robert Morris in the NIT.

Anybody that is worried about the future of OU basketball after this season is stupid.

We are having a rough year, made even rougher by the best player on our team by far missing the last month (and maybe more) under mysterious circumstances.

Right they missed it one time and have been a high seed every other year except the year they went to the title game as an 8 seed. Point is, as young as we may be, on our way to 12-18 is not anything to hold your head high for. Regardless of the youth on this team.

Could you point us to the post where anyone said it was that? Thanks in advance.

And also, if you could fill us in on exactly what the proper response is to this (so far) disappointing season, that too would be appreciated. Should we be tearing out our hair? Gnashing our teeth? Rending our garments? Shifting our allegiance to oswho? Guaranteeing a years-long absence from the NCAA tourney? Calling for Coach Kruger's job and/or head?

It's hard to know. I certainly don't want to be viewed as holding my head high but I'm not sure that throwing myself off the roof of one of NYC's storied skyscrapers is the way to go either. Somewhere in between is called for, I feel certain, but exactly where in between?

You could follow Coolm and root for Baylor? If I had the answers I wouldn't be posting on this forum Buddy. Maybe they can bring back Buddy and Isaiah to the team. And pray for a W against Kansas.

HOW will I ever show my face at the water cooler again now that OU isn't fabulous?
