Texas picks up a commitment from the #1 ranked player in the 2018 class:

Charli Collier, 6-3 post, Crosby MS (Crosby Texas)

Several college coaches were in disbelief that Collier hadn’t committed anywhere but as I pointed out she was only an eighth grader, she is in a position to go just about anywhere she wants. She has a college ready body and is still learning some things on both ends however she has already been labeled “BEAST” by myself and will be terrorizing teams near you and I don’t just throw labels out there.

Will be interesting to see if the helps or hurts them getting Cox's.

I would think it would have no bearing on Cox's decision. She would be a Junior by the time this girl gets to campus. If anything, I would think Cox's decision would have have an effect on this girl's decision.

Middle school girls commitments don't mean a whole lot this far in advance. Remember Dungee was a "solid" commitment to OSU even after the plane crash and OU offers. I think how UT does between now and her junior year will have an impact on her decision also.
 
I'm not sure how they did it but, Texas has commitments from the #5 ranked PG in the 2014 class as well as the #2 ranked PG in the 2015 class.
 
George Washington (Assistant Coach at Texas) and his wife are the legal guardians of 2015 Lashann Higgs who is from the Bahama originally.

Higgs and Jordan Hosey is a really nice start to the 2015 texas class they, Texas should have the talent to win the big 12 and make a deep tournament when both girls are Sophomores if coach Aston can get the team rolling.
 
CoCo Baker was at LSU when she got booted from the team due to off court transgressions. She will now attend Alabama.
 
Hate to see these young players starting out their collegiate careers battling injuries. She a Maddie were both projected to be the top freshman last year and big contributors this year. Wish her the best.
