Odomes

I actually attended the McNeese State game, which was his best game. He scored a bunch of points, yes against inferior competition. It appears now they are already trying to change his form, or he is. He went to the line a few times in that game and even though he has already had a hitch, it wasn't like it looked last night. In the MSU game he hit a 3, drove to bucket confidently, and looked like an all around baller. I know he has the hitch but was he not drilling 3s in high school? It's like golf even though it's not pretty if it's repeatable just go with it. Unless the hitch will prevent him from getting his shot off at this level. I hope that too much "fixing" doesn't set him back too bad and completely do his confidence in..

Your first thought here is the key. When you get into the mechanics of a shot, there usually isn't a ton of fixing going on. Moving an elbow here, better hand placement there, maybe change the release point some, better extension and follow through, more knee bend and lift, etc. Kind of a more of that, less of this deal. A hitch is extremely easy to fix and, with the number of shots they get up in the offseason, it won't be long until Odomes will feel like he's shot that way all his life. The basic thing is if you can shoot it now, you can always shoot it better. NOBODY better in the business of fixing shooting mechanics than CLK and Henson!

Not only is he out os sync but after watching several practices he only goes to his left and doesn't want to use his right hand regardless. Got to bring that portion of his game to the D-I level.

If you want to lose confidence just go against the # 1 team in the country and against the #1 player. That's a big gap between them and you.

Hes a true freshman that doesnt get minutes, I dont expect him to show much. We dont need him this year, i think he will be a decent player in the future, probably not a star.

When I went to a summer practice last June, Odomes was the new player that impressed me the most. He was aggressive and did a good job slashing to the basket. I really liked his athleticism. This was right after his MVP performance in the Faith 7 game.

He knows what he needs to work on, and this off-season will be an opportunity to fine tune his game. I still expect big things from him.
