He has been a very solid player, and I believe he will get better as the season progresses. The thing I like most about him is that he does not force the game, he lets the game come to him. One of those smooth players that you don't realize is doing much, and you look up, and his numbers are solid across the board.
As far as hyping and overhyping: what coach doesn't hype his guys??? How many times have we seen meltdowns on the football boards because fans got butthurt when they found out that someone Wilson or Stoops hyped up, turned out to not be as good as advertised???
Billy Tubbs hyped his guys, Sampson was a little slower about hyping underclassmen, but he would hype his upperclassmen. Its all a psychological ploy, and different coaches prescribed to different methods. Some hype/overhype, while others downplay...... It's called coach speak, and I'm yet to understand why fans get so offended by it.
I will be so happy when this board can FINALLY realize we have moved on from JC, and there is no need to pull him into every thread. I remember the same BS happened when Kelvin left. Every thread turned into a what KS did bad type of thread. It took several yrs for that to stop, so I guess it will be the same with Capel. IMO, it just clutters the board.
In the offseason I was told we had nothing else to discuss. Well now we do!!!! We are actually playing games, with a new coach, yet more conversation about JC dominates the board, with the same Bitter Dozen using EVERY thread to tell everyone how much they hated JC, is glad he left, or how bad of a coach he was. WE GET IT OK????? OK???? OKKKKKK???
Can we please move on............:OUbball-logo:
