Coach Gasso has signed several Oklahoma girls rather than the California heavy classes she has signed in the past. It looks to me like the success of OUr program has attracted the attention of the girls and maybe some schools. It doesnt cost much money to have a girls team when you already have a diamond. But we still need one Chamberlain a year(can you imagine 8 of them?!?!?)

The problem there is that there's only one Chamberlain. We *might* be able to pickup a Pendley every year.

OU did revert to signing Oklahoma kids in the 2012-13 class as they signed 7 players and all were from Oklahoma. Their latest the 2013-14 class consisted of 3 players, one was an infielder from Bethany,OK, another was a JC transfer pitcher from George West, TX via Butler CC and the last was a Stanford University transfer pitcher from Albuquerque, NM with 3 years eligibility.

Obviously their focus was on pitching with both Ricketts and Gascoigne graduating.

Are you implying the above are OU commitments or just targeted recruits?

They are definitely commitments to OU. That Paige Parker shut down Team USA for 4 innings this Summer at the Canada Cup and she is only 16. She is the next big lefty for OU Softball.

Gasso has them lined up for years to come.

You can check jenkinsavenuebombers.com and get the definitive list of OU commitments. Almost all softball schools have started getting commitments from freshmen. OU should soon get or maybe already has commitments for 2017.

That is interesting to me. If that happened in basketball, people would almost laugh at commitments that far in advance yet, they seem to be commonplace in softball.

-I believe that Marshaylee Knighten 2B/SS Buena Park, CA is a 2015 commitment. Also Kelsey Arnold from Holland Hall HS will be coming in 2014.
