Otto Porter, 2011 forward recruit

Conventional thinking by who?

Missouri has a minimum of two scholarships (three if the NCAA will ever officially declare Mitchell ineligible).

McLemore's a 2 and Porter's a combo forward. They're in no way competing for a scholarship with Missouri. Both have had offers for quite some time.

For what it's worth, though, Porter's actually ranked higher in ESPN's new rankings. Guess McLemore hasn't impressed much at Oak Hill this year.

It'll be interesting to see if OU can get seriously involved. His recruitment has been very odd. With no AAU play and little contact with people outside that corner of the state, plus the intentional delay until the late signing period, it's next to impossible to get a read on him. A lot of people think he more or less knows what he wants to do and just is waiting until he's done with high school basketball. But I wouldn't be shocked if he hasn't even given it serious consideration. I think anyone could still get in and win him over with the right approach.

The kid looks to me like a perfect fit for Mike Anderson's style of basketball. Since he's from Missouri, I'd be shocked if he's not in gold and black next year.

So, I'm with the crowd that says go after the local products at positions of need.

I agree with u here. But if we do only have 2 schollies next year do we pass up on Jurick or Cezar? If Hardricks schollies opens up then I say sign all 3.

OU is not passing up on Jurick or Cezar if they commit. If they have scholarship issues look for a current Sooner to transfer.

Also, now that I think about it, I have saw the kid from Ponca City. He is no where being offered a scholarship by anyone. He's the coaches son and a decent ball player, but they're getting blown out by 30 points a game. If Capel where thinking of offering him, I would be leading the fire Capel bandwagon.

I have heard that Mizzou is seriously looking at the Jenkins twins from Douglass. Now they are very raw, but Mizzou would be a great system for those two, especially Romond.

Any more info on them?

From the little I've read on them, I'd be surprised if they were anything more than backup plans. Right now MU's priorities seem to be Porter, McLemore and likely a juco post. Unless they can't find a juco they like and/or McLemore chooses kansas, I can't see any way these guys end up at Mizzou. Could be wrong, though.

Jenkins twins are likely juco kids, but they are very athletic and raw forwards that run the floor well and contest a lot of shots.

The last time Anderson signed some juco twins they provided one of the best plays in NCAA tournament history.

I'll keep an eye out for them in 2013.
