OU/Albany Prediction Thread

Denver -- they might. The final score depends on a lot of variables. Do we push the tempo? Do the refs call it tight, resulting in a lot of free throws? Do they get hot from three? Do we turn the ball over too much?

If we lock in on defense and execute on offense, and the refs don't put them on the line, sure, we can hold them under 50. The thing you have to remember with OSU is that we knew them VERY well and were able to shut down everything they wanted to do. We don't have that luxury with Albany.

Of course they might. My point is simply OU fans are giving way too much credit to Albany. OU has a really good team, especially on defense.

The median prediction among OU fans here is that we'll give up 55 points. Our defense is really good, but I hardly think that suggesting Albany will score 55 is giving them a whole lot of credit, particularly when it's just 2-3 baskets more than your prediction.

We all believe the same thing. OU should beat them soundly. The rest of us are just not comfortable dogging Albany. They deserve to be taken seriously.

My prediction. Cole, Mankin, and the rest of the crew get minutes.

Denver, I get where you're coming from, but it's hard to have faith in a team that is 1-6 in the post-season. When we get the monkey off our back, I will feel better. Last year we had a top 20 offense and only scored 75 in OT against North Dakota state...

Correction: THIS team is 1-1 in post season.

There is a notable difference between North Dakota star and Albany as well as OU this year and last year.

My favorite prediction so far come from Matt Norlander from CBS Sports. Haha!!!! Link to full story:

"Five bold predictions for the region

The biggest Round of 64 upset will be … Albany over Oklahoma. Give me the Great Danes, who bring with them one of the best stories of the NCAA tournament. Albany's Peter Hooley hit the winning 3-pointer to send the team to the tournament. He left the program earlier this season for an extended hiatus to be with his cancer-battling mother, who died at the end of January.

If Albany beats Oklahoma, it will be one of the three biggest stories of next weekend.

The lowest-seeded school to make the Sweet 16 will be … Providence. Since I have Albany over Oklahoma, I think No. 6 Providence will get by either Boise State or Dayton, then beat Albany. You can make the case no program has a better true 1-2 punch than PC's Dunn and Henton."
