Baylor is #1 in:
---scoring offense
---scoring margin
---field goal percentage defense
---rebound margin
---assist/turnover ratio
They are #3 in field goal percentage.
If you shoot well, don't allow the other team to shoot well, have few turnovers, and dominate in rebounds, you might win a game here or there. They are only #205 in free throw percentage, and are tied for #180 in the number of three pointers made per game. When you score every time down the court, do you need to shoot threes?
Last year, Baylor won by ten in Waco and by eight in Norman. They didn't blow us out. They appear to be better. So are we.
I kind of wish that this was after about four or five more games. Now that Maddie has begun to take the lead, this team is finding out what it can do. Maddie is the only player we have that can score from anywhere, and she opens up opportunities for everyone else when she decides to shoot. Gioya seemed to get what was available and take advantage of it. Gabbi is shooting well again. Peyton struggled, but not because the opportunities weren't there. It also opened up the post a bit, and Vivi was not so likely to lose it trying to dribble in the middle.
Just do what you have learned to do, and this could be interesting. If we play smart, this will be close. If not, we will lose by twenty.
Maddie is a bit of a matchup problem. Does everyone have a 6-2 shooting guard to put on her?
