OU at TCU

For not knowing how to break a press and not knowing what defense to run, that sure was an impressive road win. If we could get our coaching staff to actually coach these kids, we might be winning these games by 40.

Yes, you are correct! But that's what happens when you hire a high school coach and a bunch of her friends to coach a major college team!

When does someone (and her assistants) with three Final Fours and a whole bunch of NCAA Tournament victories become known as a really good college basketball coach instead of a high school coach?

If Sherri Coale went and hired assistants who had been a part of a staff that had been to 3 Final Fours, she would be praised for bringing in top notch assistants. Instead, she is ripped for the assistants she does have, who happen to have been to Final Fours, won championships, etc.

I know I am critical of Sherri and her staff from time to time. I can't argue her success. There will always be naysayers regardless how successful the head coach will become. Especially during the rebuilding years that all coaches will eventually go through.

I read the box score wrong on the minutes. I think it was about Korny-2, T'Ona-7, LaNesia-3.

I do think that now that Sherri has her team more defined, its a lot about mistakes. Make them, and you sit.

I get that impression. If it's accurate then it's the first time Sherri has done that.

I think this is the first time that Sherri has been this confident in her depth.

Forgive me if it's been answered elsewhere, but does anyone know what actually happened on the 2nd technical in that double T sequence? The first one was plain as day on the gal that threw Little to the floor, but the wife & I re-watched that stretch 3 times in a row & never did see who did what to get the second one. TIA.

Do not believe she receive a technical but a foul for the original incident. Then according to the radio announcers for OU, they believed she received a technical for something she said to Little after the original foul. The second technical they thought was because she pushed Maddie Manning when Maddie came over to see what was going on. I also rewatched it three times and thought I might have seen her push Maddie but there was a group of players there, so am not sure. Certainly has not been explained anywhere on the internet that I can find. Someone here thought the first technical was because of something she said to Peyton and the second one was because she just kept talking. Maybe we will find out on Sherri's next show.

I believe you are correct on all points.

I have seen no explanation of the two technicals. One was for profanity directed at Peyton. The other may have been continued profanity, profanity in response to the official, or threatening a player. There were three fouls assessed to Medley on the play, fouling her out.

I have a different question. With two technicals, would she have been disqualified? Do two technicals result in a suspension?

Just prior to the incident, Zahna had been cautioned by a different official for bumping into Peyton while the ball was out of bounds. He stopped play to do so. In addition to the possibility that it might have been for threatening Peyton or profanity to an official, it could well have been a technical imposed as punishment for not following the instructions of the first official who had separated them.

Edit: since the bumping of Peyton by Zahna stopped play while the ball was officially out of bounds, and the foul occurred on the inbounds play, the technical might have also been imposed for delay of game. We only saw the one official give the signal for technical on TV. Another official might have imposed another technical that we didn't see for anything from delay of game to threatening, which had also occurred during the bumping incident.
