OU Basketball: Progression at the Post >>> CCMachine

Good article, but I wouldn't exactly call 6-9, 6-8, 6-8, 6-10, and 6-7 undersized in the post. The only time that would have a huge size advantage is Baylor. All the other teams are on par or shorter than OU in the conference.

The problem is that the 6-10 guy is not Big 12 caliber. The 6-9 guy is not bulky enough to body up with elite Big 12 5s in my opinion.

So M'baye isn't bulky enough to body up against Withey and Austin? The other "bigger" bigs haven't shown much in this early season.

Exactly.

Height is not always a good measuring stick for how a team will stack up when facing opponents their size or bigger. In reality, this OU team plays smaller than their listed height on paper.

M'Baye is a small forward in an undersized power forward body. Osby is more of a tweener who usually holds his own against bigger players. Fitz has the size, just not the foot speed. Tyler doesn't have enough bulk, so he relies mostly on his athleticism. Arent, well I really don't know what to say, except that he does what he can with what he has.

Too bad Bennett needed a year to get better and Spangler had to sit out this season. We could have used them.
