Well. We get to see tonight whether we have learned anything by the last two games. If we have the intensity that we had against Texas and Kansas, especially Kansas, this could be a good game tonight. What would it take to win?

It all begins with us. We have to shoot better. It would be nice if Aaryn were back and were hitting threes. Sims once shot 9 for 12 from three against us. It would take that kind of night, or at least six or seven for twelve. We can't win with 0 of 11 from three-point range. We need to make at least seven threes.

We need Griffin to work like she did against KU. She hustled for every rebound. We need everyone to fight for those loose balls. It would help if Kay Kay could have a decent night on the boards.

We have to keep it below fifteen turnovers.

For Baylor, it begins with Sims. We have to keep her off the free throw line. She is shooting very well this year, but she can also go cold. We need to let her shoot from outside, but not wide open. Try to keep her away from layups. If she is hot from three, let her score them. Just don't let her drive and get fouled. She will kill quicker from the line than from three.
She also gets the benefit of every call when she drives.

Davis is the other key. She is the best freshman that I have seen in the Big Twelve this year. She defines intensity. She is only 5-11, but I think she leads the Big Twelve in rebounding. That is hustle. She does go over the back a lot, but officials aren't calling that all that much. She is also their second leading scorer. We have to have the same level of intensity as she does.

I watched Notre Dame kill Duke again. UConn and Notre Dame are good because they play every game with the kind of intensity that we exhibited against Kansas. It isn't just that they out-athlete everyone. They outwork everyone. They ran Duke down. Duke also lost their point guard just as they were beginning to fight their way back into the game. She may be out for the year. ND has a good freshman point, a Skylar who kind of kid, except that she doesn't score. But, they hustle. We might be pretty good too if we were to hustle like that. The team that played Kansas can force Baylor to play well in order to win.

To beat Baylor, I think we will need to get them into foul trouble. We can do two things to help make that happen. One is to have Sharane and Gioya drive a lot and initiate contact. They both are the best we have at initiating contact and getting to the line. We also need to go inside to the bigs. I just wish Sherri could stop them from dribbling.

Davis killed us on the Offensive boards last game Kaylon was the only one that kept her off the glass. Our best line up was when Kaylon and Nicole played together but knowing Sherri that's not going happened. I think T'Ona is our best option on Sims.

You're right: Nicole and KayKay on the court together could work pretty well for us. But what happens when they both get in early foul trouble? I think Sherri is playing them the only way she can (alternating them). Now, if the clock is down to 5-6 minutes, we're close or within striking distance, and neither Nicole or Kaylon have more than three fouls, it might be time to get them in the game together.

I wish that the men didn't have to play KU the same nite that the women played Baylor. Two road games, two Big 12 leaders, two reasons to spend lots of quality time at the auto shop with a busted vehicle with no cell phone access

You cannot stop Sims, especially in Waco, what you have to do is slow her down, don't let her get in a rythm and find a way to hold her to less than 20 from the field and line.

I like the idea of Edwards on her because of quickness and on-ball defensive capability. Size will difficult for Edwards, but her speed will help. Carter slaps too much and would be in foul trouble within 10 minutes. Sharane would be the same way.

I think we will see Carter on her, however, until that foul trouble begins and then she will be Edward's or Campbell's job.

I agree that we need Griffin and Williams together banging the boards like crazed banshee's, but Sherri isn't going away from a four-guard, so, we might as well forget that. Kornet might have a decent night, we need her to. We will see. She could ease the rebounding dillemma more than a bbit.

I think Campbell gets in foul trouble pretty quickly in this game and probably doesn't play more than 25. If she does play more, it will be great for us.

Morgan has got to shoot, shoot, shoot from the perimeter, as does Kornet -- and they have to make them. Morgan also has to limit turnovers dramatically and draw major contact on her drives and get Baylor's bigs in trouble.

If we dont hit 40 percent of our threes and do better than 29 percent from the field it will be like Santa Anna's army coming over the walls at the Alamo or the FBI going after Koresh.

I don't think we have much of a chance to win this game. On top of everything else, it's in Waco. Who's butt do you think those pathetic Big 12 refs are going to be kissing from the get-go?

I won't be satisfied with it, but if we lose by less than 12 and played well, that would feel like a victory to me.

Happy thought: Since we shot 0-fer against KU, perhaps we will shoot 100 percent for three against Baylor :D

I agree! We're staring at 2 bad losses tonight. Officials are scared of Skeletor and she hates Sherri so not going to be pretty IMO.
