OU in a Vise

If rosters stay the way they are, there is no way OU will be better than Nebraska or Colorado next year. Both of those teams are primed to have good seasons and have more talent, depth, and experience than OU has right now.

Now, you decide if that that is ok at OU.

It is not OK,I think everyone agrees with that but, I dont see any other choice other than to take the lumps and move on.

Maybe see who those guys are first, before you reach a conclusion about what will happen?

I've not reached any negative conclusions. But I can't pretend to have reached any positive ones, either. It's just a bad feeling in my gut.

It's the rare freshman who makes a huge impact on the D-1 level, so as much as I'm looking forward to seeing Clark and Taylor play, my short-term expectations for them have always been modest. And given the level of talent they'll be surrounded by, they're now even lower.

And a year ago, no one here was questioning the character of our incoming class, and every single one of them has since been guilty of at least one character-related misstep.

What's more, many posters spoke repeatedly of TMG as a four-year player. I even asked at times how everyone was so certain he wouldn't jump early to the NBA, but was assured he'd be sticking around.

I'm looking for any silver lining I can find, believe me, but they are not easy to spot at present. I hope that changes in very short order.

we should support coach capel and have patience. Also, we should quit dwelling on the recent bad news. Try to forget 2009-10. What is past, is past. There is nothing we can do about it.

There is nothing to do now, but move forward with hope and optimism. I am convinced that coach capel wants to stay here a long time. He has something to prove, and i wish him the greatest success in building back the program.

I have been negative and cynical in recent months, but there is no reward down that path.

It is what it is. There is nowhere but up from here, but one must have patience. Patience and optimism. Those are the words. Just think how much we will appreciate the good times to come.

Rest assured, I'm not expecting anything "magical" to happen in either recruiting or the product OU puts on the court next season. But, there are some silver linings = solid kids that are signed and solid with their commitment, guys with one foot out the door the entire season have gone ahead and stepped, and we get to see what Coach Capel brings to the table. To be clear though, I am disappointed where things are, anybody that is a fan of OU would be.
