• Iowa State shot .519 from the field and .500 (11-for-22) from 3-point range to down Oklahoma 80-69 in Ames, Iowa. The Cyclones won by 11 despite making just one more field goal than the Sooners (28-27).
• ISU went a combined 26-for-52 (.500) from 3-point range in the two-game regular season series against OU, outscoring the Sooners 78-24 from behind the arc. The Cyclones were 15-for-30 from 3-point distance in Norman on Feb. 14 in a 77-70 win. OU was 3-for-13 from long distance today.
• The Sooners trailed by just five points (46-41) with 11 minutes remaining before Iowa State used a 13-0 run over a span of two minutes and 10 seconds to go up by 18 (59-41). The Cyclones went 5-for-5 from the field during the stretch and hit back-to-back-to-back 3-pointers.
• The OU junior trio of Steven Pledger, Andrew Fitzgerald and Romero Osby entered the game by accounting for 68 percent of the team's points in Big 12 play, and totaled 58 points against Iowa State two weeks ago. Today, the threesome scored 19 of the Sooners' 69 points (28 percent) and was a combined 6-for-25 (.240) from the field. Osby finished with 10 points, Pledger seven and Fitzgerald two.
• Sophomore guard Cameron Clark scored a team-high 16 points for his second-highest output of the season and highest in 19 games. He was 8-for-14 from the field and added four rebounds and three steals. Clark is averaging 14.5 points the last two games after averaging 5.7 the previous seven outings.
• Sophomore forward Tyler Neal came off the bench to supply 10 points on 4-for-7 field goal and 2-for-5 3-point shooting. His 10 points were his most in Big 12 play. Neal is averaging 9.0 points the last two contests after averaging 1.1 points in OU's first 12 conference games.
• Junior guard Carl Blair came off the bench to net 12 points on 4-for-5 shooting. His day included a five-point possession following a “Flagrant 2” foul by Iowa State’s Melvin Ejim (two free throws followed by a 3-pointer). Blair had averaged 1.6 points over the previous nine games.
• Iowa State senior guard Scott Christopherson went 5-for-8 from 3-point range and scored a game-high 25 points. Fellow senior Chris Allen went 4-for-7 from deep and finished with 16 points.
• Oklahoma is back home Wednesday when it hosts Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. CT.
