OU is about to be highest seed in region

Save a 6-0 run by Virginia this game is OVER. What does that mean for OU?

Too bad they are being treated like the lowest seed

yet, IF we do get past Dayton we will definitely be an underdog against MSU.

Currently around a 4 pt fav over Dayton but I see it as a tossup.

So you'd rather play Virginia vs having to play Mich State?

and out come the lofty expectations = the badmouthing if they don't make the final four.

An example of how people can read posts and draw completely opposite conclusions. I don't read that at all. I think we all prefer to be the underdog and I think we still will be from a media standpoint.

you dont read that from "1 and 2 gone now there are no excuses" ???

ridiculous.

No, in that case, I don't. I understand what you're saying, though. People who don't understand college basketball will go nuts when we lose.

Lets just get past Dayton. No reason to start looking ahead.

I don't think seeds matter. Most knowledgeable fans know that but it is nice as a #3 seed to the casual observer to acknowledge OU is the highest seed left in our region. Hopefully the talking heads mention it this way and talk about it. That's good for OU. But again seeds don't matter, it's how your team is playing coming into the match-up. I think everyone agrees Mich State is playing better than Virginia correct? How could you not see that? :ez-laugh: Seems obvious now I'd rather play Virginia a #2 seed than Mich State a #7 seed. It's so funny that now that Mich State beat Virginia, and despite what seeds they are, OU fans will be less disappointed if we lose to Mich State than had we played them yesterday as a #7 seed let's say... proving seeds don't matter to the knowledgeable fan.

Having said that I know Mich State fans are excited by the improved play their Spartan's have exhibited lately vs what they observed in the regular season. That's what's great about college basketball! The 64 team tourney field makes this a LONG journey. Hopefully OU will see some more encouraging signs today against Dayton and improve on what we saw against Albany. Should OU win... I would really like Izzo to prepare a drawn-out complicated scheme vs a simple one against OU. The more difficult the plan the better. To make that happen OU needs to show itself to be multifaceted today and play well while winning. Sure we want to just win but we also don't need injuries, poor play, and anything that will linger into the next round.

Must have been a different thread? Maybe the "I don't want to jinx things but..." thread?

Just give their coach his due, he always seems to get them playing well in the tourney.

Unless you are a 1 seed there are no easy roads in the NCAA. If OU plays solid defense and continues with the solid bench play, they have a shot at beating anyone left in the field.

This is exactly right. If OU loses today it will be because they either didn't play solid defense or the bench didn't show up or both. It's as simple as that.

Guys, One game at a time, first up Dayton. If we take care of business then on to the Sweet 16 but first Dayton. Now I'll be the first to tell you, early in the season and maybe half way through if you would have said possible Sweet 16 I would of questioned you. Now there is a good chance but first Dayton. If we make it, then bring on Mich St.

One game at a time!

It sure doesn't hurt to think Sweet 16. Wow that would be great for a young team.
