I don't think seeds matter. Most knowledgeable fans know that but it is nice as a #3 seed to the casual observer to acknowledge OU is the highest seed left in our region. Hopefully the talking heads mention it this way and talk about it. That's good for OU. But again seeds don't matter, it's how your team is playing coming into the match-up. I think everyone agrees Mich State is playing better than Virginia correct? How could you not see that? :ez-laugh: Seems obvious now I'd rather play Virginia a #2 seed than Mich State a #7 seed. It's so funny that now that Mich State beat Virginia, and despite what seeds they are, OU fans will be less disappointed if we lose to Mich State than had we played them yesterday as a #7 seed let's say... proving seeds don't matter to the knowledgeable fan.
Having said that I know Mich State fans are excited by the improved play their Spartan's have exhibited lately vs what they observed in the regular season. That's what's great about college basketball! The 64 team tourney field makes this a LONG journey. Hopefully OU will see some more encouraging signs today against Dayton and improve on what we saw against Albany. Should OU win... I would really like Izzo to prepare a drawn-out complicated scheme vs a simple one against OU. The more difficult the plan the better. To make that happen OU needs to show itself to be multifaceted today and play well while winning. Sure we want to just win but we also don't need injuries, poor play, and anything that will linger into the next round.
