*******OU-North Texas Pregame Notes/Game Thread*******

One game doesn't make a player. He has a whole career of poor shooting and poor decision making. Don't hold your breath

Feel better now?

Sorry, but I prefer to give credit where it's due -- and it was definitely due last night.

You are correct. He played his best game if his career.

Again don't hold your breathe or you will be dissappojntes

I never said he hadn't made strides.

I love the way he is playing. But again I'm not holding my breath that he will do this all year

Ready to give Neal some sincere props yet, SoonerBounce? He's not the team MVP -- no one ever thought he would be -- but we don't win tonight without him.

I have no issues giving him props when he has a decent game.

You could say we don't win without just about everyone that played tonight. I didn't get to watch the game but 5/14 isn't anything to write home about

A player you've repeatedly dismissed was the second leading scorer in a very tight road win and he led the team in rebounds. Man up and give him his due. You dismissed others' praise of him in the early part of the season while insisting that his contributions would dwindle as the season progressed. That hasn't happened, and tonight, he played a vital role in a big win. Scrambling to find a statistic that, taken out of context, diminishes his contribution? That's beyond petty and beneath you.

What? I have no issue giving him his due.

But my whole point was that I don't think his production would contie against better competition. He was decent vs texas. He has t done much of anything else since this thread though. Again we will see if it continues. I doubt it

Having watched the game, I'd say he was much more than decent last night. Great to see Tyler play like that!

Offensively 13 points on 14 shots isn't anything to write home about. It's decent.

His boards are good though

Bounce, since you didn't watch the game, try and catch a replay on FSN or LHN. Tyler was very, very good. Three of his FG attempts came on one possession....and he still got the bucket.

We don't win without him last night. We may not even come close, because his early triples kept us in touch.

I don't understand the constant grinding on Tyler. If he were consistently good, he would be a starter. This season he is good more often than he has been in the past. I'm pretty happy about that. I'm even happier for Tyler.

Box score doesn't tell the whole story. Either watch the game or defer to those of us who did.

On the other hand, Bounce might not want to watch the game. The texas announcers were very impressed with Tyler and praised him effusively more than once.

Personally, I think it is because he is white.

I know you aren't being that serious here. But it's because of his past being inconsistent or being consistently bad at times. Last year he scored almost all of his points for the season in like 2 games. Basically was a no show the rest of the year. This year he's been consistently solid for the most part as a role player.

Along with Tyler's own efforts, I give Spangler some credit for Tyler's increased productivity.

They are room mates this season and appear to be friends. Spangler is a positive impact on the teams attitude and effort in the practice gym. Tyler has Spangler at home too.

Good to hear...hope he can keep it up. He makes us a lot better when he is playing well
