When I see an offer like this, I can't help but think back to the OU fans that say things like "Lon Kruger doesn't play games with recruiting and roster spots."
That is exactly what Lon Kruger is doing here. This kid does not deserve an OU offer at this time. Obviously the staff thinks he has the ability to turn into that type of player over the next two years. If he does, great, OU got in on his recruitment early, and hopefully that pays off. If he doesn't? Even if the kid has committed, I suspect Lon Kruger would tell the kid to look elsewhere. Granted LK would probably communicate this to the kid early enough that he can look elsewhere for a scholarship, but I have no doubt it would happen.
