OU offers two in-state players from Mustang

These reports about the Mustang team and players are much appreciated. Please keep them coming.

Also, please post their upcoming schedule, just in case some of us want to go watch them play.

OSSAA is expected to release the 6A area brackets around 3 today, so I'll post it as soon as it gets put up! All I know is that Mustang is playing Midwest City on Friday at a neutral site, to be determined

Mustang will play Midwest City on Friday March 7th at Edmond North in an Area matchup

5 foot 9, which is probably generous.. hes more athletic then phil forte for osu who starts currently for osu

If I remember correctly when this was first shown a couple years ago they admitted it was not a 10 foot goal. He may be very athletic, but if I remember correctly he admitted he could not dunk a 10 foot goal.

I like the Long kid. Looks like he has a D-1 body already. The Meyer kid looks slight to me and doesn't seem to have a great frame to add to. He runs the floor really well. Looks like a stretch '4' at the next level to me.

Long isn't as skilled at his position as Meyer is at his. Long is actually a year older than Meyer. I agree that Meyer is a hard read right now, but again, he's a sophomore in HS. Someone who's seen a lot of big men when they were young would have to comment on this as I've not gotten to see a lot of HS big men at the same point of their development.

I could see Meyer adding a couple of inches and filling out more but, as is, he doesn't look like a banger to me. I'm really interested to find about their game with Bixby and more to the point his matchup with Mitch Solomon. Again just a soph. Will be an interesting group to follow over the next 2 years.

i just dont see the meyer kid being a D-1 kid. hes tiny.. makes tyler neal look ripped.. maybe if the kid gets in the weight room hard the next 2 years

I see Meyer as a D1 kid down the road. He has tools and has grown so much he is going to be skinny right now. I think hoops is being a little harsh on him for that right now as I have heard he has grown a lot in the last few years. He might make Neal look ripped, at the same time he is 3 inches taller than Tyler and much younger.

Long has been a big kid his entire career. I am not sure he has a position at OU's level going forward. He may improve his quickness and shooting the next two years and change my mind on that though. Right now he struggles to guard perimeter players and doesn't have the gear to get by guards on offense. That can all change for sophs though.

Wasn't it reported that Durant couldn't bench press 135lbs when he went to the pros? Hollis price was small. Austin Johnson was very thin. I don't think you have to be all that big to succeed in college.

The problem I see with a kid like him banging is the officials REALLY won't allow it. If you watch many of his games, he gets called for some of the most ridiculous fouls you can imagine.

Mustang beat Bixby 48-42 on 3/13/14 to advance to state semi-finals
