OU-OSU Game Thread

I have always liked watching her play.

In fact, when she was in High School I really hoped she would sign with OU. I think she would have proven to be an excellent addition to our team over the past 2-3 years.

I agree. She seems to be a classy individual, the type Coale recruits.

I wasn't living in-state when Donohoe was being recruited, so I don't know the story. But she is a player.

I don't remember Donohoe being very highly-sought. As a freshman, it was obvious that she was a nice player. But, I suspect that if she had come to OU, we would have heard the criticism that she isn't all that athletic. When they concentrated on her a little in Norman, they were able to shut her down completely, both her and Martin if I remember correctly. She might have made a nice reserve on the type of team that would make a Final Four.

The first half looked like a cross between a couple of fourth grade teams and the Marx brothers and three Stooges. I almost just turned it off, but can't give up on our Sooners. By spreading the floor a little better and moving the ball inside to Kaylon and then back out when she wasn't clear was the difference. We rebounded evenly with the Pokes in the second half and played a pretty good defense most of the half. Having played on the Gallager/Iba floor in college, it has some of the tightest rims I have ever shot on. Hard to judge long rebounds, and there were a bunch. That's not an excuse. There were too many times shots went up and only one rebounder down low. No one was crashing the boards for offensive rebounds. The girls put together a half way decent second half and shot well. It was ugly, but it was a W. Now time to move on, rest up, and get our shooting eye back so we can add another Big XII title to our trophy case.
