Re: OU-OSU Box Score

Good to see Pledger break out of his slump by going 6-10 from the three. That's 9 of 16 (56%) in the last two games. :clap

He has a lot of work to do on defense, though. I had a feeling he might struggle to defend at this level. But I didn't expect it to be anything like this. He looks lost on D sometimes. Unfortunately, he's not the only one.

Re: OU-OSU Box Score >>> SoonerSports.com

Notes from SoonerSports.com:

• Oklahoma's season came to an end with an 81-67 loss to Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship first round.

• OSU jumped to a 9-0 lead with 3-pointers on its first three possessions and eventually increased its margin to 20-2.

• Down 22 at halftime, the Sooners scored the first 11 points of the second half and later cut OSU's lead to 10 (47-37) with 13:08 to go. The Cowboys responded with an 11-3 run over the next 1:45 to go back up by 18.

• OU held Big 12 Player of the Year James Anderson to 11 points, three rebounds and two assists in 32 minutes of play. Anderson also had a game-high five turnovers.

• Freshman Tommy Mason-Griffin registered team highs of 22 points and nine assists while playing 39 minutes. It was the 10th time in the last 14 games he led OU in scoring. On the season, the freshman averaged 14.1 points and 5.0 assists per contest. The only Sooner to average more assists per game over the last 13 years was Terrell Everett (5.0 in 2004-05 and 6.9 in 2005-06).

• Mason-Griffin's nine assists were one shy of OU's Big 12 Championship record of 10 set by Austin Johnson two years ago against Texas.

• Fellow freshman Steven Pledger came off the bench to register 18 points on 6-for 10 3-point shooting. His six treys matched a career high and set an OU single-game Big 12 Championship record. His scoring output was his third highest of the season (highest since Nov. 26).

• Senior Tony Crocker scored nine points and finished his career as OU's 15th-leading all-time scorer (1,351 points).

• OU went 11-for-12 from the free throw line to raise its season percentage to .744, its best since shooting a school-record .767 in 2001-02.

• OSU shot .536 from the field to become the eighth straight OU opponent to record at least a .500 figure.

• OU's Big 12 Tournament record fell to 19-11 (tied with OSU for the second best behind only Kansas' 25-7 mark).

• The Sooners finished the year 13-18. It was their first losing season since 1980-81.

But this will definitely help me grow as a coach,
help me in some decision-making processes going
forward.
And I look forward to getting ready for
next year.

:clap

I think Capel learns alot from this year...As frustrated as I am I do believe he can develop into a great coach. This year would have been tough for alot of coaches to coach this group, it could have been done but it was not an easy task....
