We were flat out better, and a bad matchup for A&M, but the tournament practice of calling enough fouls to get the trailing team back in the game continued, unfortunately.

The second-half uptick in fouls is understandable to an extent, as A&M took it inside much more often.

But as I said in another thread, we were driving it a fair amount ourselves and couldn't buy a whistle in the paint.

No it didn't.

I don't get that people still don't get that the team who gets the ball inside and drives the ball shoots more free throws. They went inside repeatedly in the 2nd half and we fouled them repeatedly in the first 6-8 minutes of the half. I'm stunned you couldn't see that.

We drove the ball quite a bit tonight, actually, but got few, if any, whistles in the paint.

If you don't think we were fouled more than 12 times in the entire game.. Idk what to tell you...

They actually took more threes than us and fewer shots in the paint. We had just as many points in the paint. They're just better at defending without fouling.. The 44% free throw shooting bothers me more. We have not been shooting well from the line recently.

The biggest missed foul call of the night was when Lattin nearly murdered the aTm big inside, and nothing was called.

OU's had lots of big wins after which a certain faction of our fans complained about our team's play. Why should the performance of the officials be off-limits for discussion?

Me, I'm just relieved we didn't have to face mighty Duke and the infallible Coach K, whom you assured us we had no chance of beating.

No, it was the foul call on Cousins late in the game on aTm's end of the floor after a scrum for the ball and the aTm player leveled Cousins. Horrible horrible call but had no effect on the outcome.

Actually, that's pretty much exactly what it seemed you meant (and based on the other comments in that thread, I wasn't alone in in reading it that way, not by a long shot). Perhaps you could clarify for all of us?

There were definitely a couple calls that we didn't get but the one you mentioned was the most egregious. Spangler got hit multiple times in the 2nd half on his lagups and nothing was called whereas every single time we had a whistle on us on he opposite end. They should have had a disparity in terms of fouls in that half based on their play but nothing to the level the refs called - great maturity on our guys just continuing to play without batting an eye.
