OU-Texas A&M Stats/Notes/Quotes/Highlights/Vinelights

I thought that they allowed them to bump Buddy a lot when he had the ball. Otherwise a pretty well officiated game. Certainly not among the worst we have seen this year.

Re: OU-Texas A&M Box Score/Vinelights

If you don't think we were fouled more than 12 times in the entire game.. Idk what to tell you...

That's obvious.

It never fails. It doesn't matter how well we play or how well the game goes, some people have to get on the board and complain about how much we were screwed by the refs. Win or lose. Play well or play badly. It doesn't matter. It's always the same.

We played tremendously last night, one of the best games we've played all season and here we are whining about being screwed by the refs. Did the refs miss a call or 2 last night? I'm sure they did. They're human and not perfect (unlike some of the members of this board). But they surely didn't miss more in A&M's favor than in ours.

Specifically what I addressed was the myth that we didn't commit as many fouls in the 2nd half as the refs called. We certainly did. We had 6 or 7 fouls called on us in the first 7-8 minutes of the half and every single one of them was a foul. Doubtless you'll dispute that, because the refs always screw OU, but it's true nonetheless. It happened because they kept going inside to Davis and with Jones driving and we couldn't handle them. We got it figured out but every time down it seemed Davis had position deep in the post with Lattin or McNeace behind him and all we could do was foul him. And we did.

The notion that those weren't fouls is preposterous.

OU with a big win to make the Elite 8, and fans still complaining about the officiating. lol

The biggest missed foul call of the night was when Lattin nearly murdered the aTm big inside, and nothing was called.

Right. We got very lucky that foul wasn't called.

In fairness, I'm sure that Aggie boards have been blowing up for 18 hours about how they got screwed by the refs, too.

I'm not sure why people watch college basketball if it doesn't matter how teams play and the refs are just going to pick their preferred team and decide the winner.

Re: OU-Texas A&M Box Score/Vinelights

We drove the ball quite a bit tonight, actually, but got few, if any, whistles in the paint.

We drove mostly in the 1st half and their help defense was atrocious. They overplayed us and we got backdoor cuts and most of those layups were uncontested -- Cousins's layup, for example. That said, both Hield and Woodard went to the line multiple times in the first half after being fouled attacking the hoop. At halftime we had attempted more free throws than they had. Then they went inside about 10 times in a row after the break.
