I'm losing faith in Lon.... FAST!

Re: >>>>>>>>>>OU-Texas Tech Game Thread<<<<<<<<<<

Too much bickering. Both with each other, and with the refs. I was going to comment on the bickering amongst themselves the last couple of games, but it's getting worse. I'm sure losing doesn't help that.

Re: >>>>>>>>>>OU-Texas Tech Game Thread<<<<<<<<<<

Not trying to pile on, but this is an ugly game. Both teams look awful, but Texas Tech at least looks like they want to win. All OU had to do to win this game is show up mentally, and they didn't.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hornbeak, Heild and M'Baye all play 25 minutes/game next year.

LOL

That is ridiculous. With his track record, he gets the benefit of the doubt. If they guys aren't buying in, or aren't talented enough, that isn't on Lon. The rebuilding may take longer than expected, that's all.

Re: >>>>>>>>>>OU-Texas Tech Game Thread<<<<<<<<<<

I'd rather lose to TT, then to Chaminade.

Would agree if we weren't getting blown out by a winless in conference team in front of literally tens of fans.

This.

HAHA! He inherited a team that knows nothing about winning.... the last guy that experienced winning for this team graduated last year (Davis). Gonna take some time to change the culture.

That being said.... this is an inexcusable loss

Re: >>>>>>>>>>OU-Texas Tech Game Thread<<<<<<<<<<

Players quitting on a coach is the last thing you want to see. This team is in a death spiral. Makes me sick.

He gets the benefit of the doubt to a certain degree, but this is the same team that beat KSU twice and took Mizzou to the wire in our last game.

We've got more than enough talent to beat a winless Tech team. The Sooners weren't ready to play today and it got worse, not better, as the game continued.

Sorry, but Coach Kruger comes in for some of the blame when the team underperforms this badly, and I suspect he'd say so, too.

I wish Lon would get rid of some players.

Placing some blame on Kruger, and "losing faith in him", are two different things.

And that is what bad teams do.....they play inconsistent. We have just enough weapons that when things go right, we can beat some decent teams. But it just takes one player having a bad game, or one part of our game not working, and we can lose badly, or to bad teams. I don't like this loss at all, but to suggest it will somehow define Kruger as OU's coach is silly.

And even if Kruger ends up stinking at OU.....he ain't going nowhere. With what we paid Capel, and what we're paying Lon, I'd be shocked if he wasn't hear 5 years, no matter what.

Re: >>>>>>>>>>OU-Texas Tech Game Thread<<<<<<<<<<

Anyone know what's the OU record for lowest point total in the shot clock era is?

According to soonerstats, the lowest we have scored since 2002 is 45 in a game and did it 3 times.

Once in a loss to Miss State (in NOLA) 45-54 in 12/2002. We also lost back-to-back games scoring 45 points in the 2007/08 season to Nebraska and Texas (both games were with BG on the team; don't remember if he played those games or was injured as I know he had some injuries that year).

I agree. Kruger deserves some blame just like he deserves some credit for beating KSU twice.
