OU-UCLA Game

We only had 7 turnovers and didn't run out of timeouts, so I'd say we did all right. I thought Coach did a good job of subbing Jaz whenever Morgan's eyes started to glaze over.

Lighten up and root on KU!

Actually in the first half Jaz did a very nice job. Sherri was running the guys in and out like a hockey line. Has anyone heard why Kornet didn't play in the second half?

Mmmm...I was addressing the poster coach, not the coach coach.

I think Sherri just wanted to go with her more veteran players in the second half. I don't think Nicole played in the second half on Saturday, either.

Wow, watching the USF - Cal women's game - - - just went into OT.

Some really pressure free throws by Inga Orekhova. She threw up a prayer of a 3 pointer at the buzzer (OK, 1.7 seconds left). Replay looked like it should not have been a foul, but the whistle blew. Inga to the line for 3 free throws. She swished two, then the Cal coach called timeout to try to see if she could ice her. Nope, went back to the line and swished the 3rd one to tie the game.

Ice water in her veins!

Regardless of who wins, young Inga can hold her head high...

In real time it looked like she was fouled. But when you saw the replay, it didn't look the Cal player touched her. She did a good job of selling the foul.

The Cal player had no business being that close. They did all they could to try and give that game away.

I'm watching it again and she came in for a minute or two when Jo got her third foul.

When the team returned home this morning at 2am, Joe C was there to meet and congratulate the team.

Also after watching it again I was impressed with Nicole. She didn't have sexy numbers but she was banging with those girls on both ends and if you look Brewer really wasn't much of a factor. Her block and rebound started the break where Vegas nailed that three on the run(Actually she had two blocks on that end of the mcourt on that possession).

Congratulations to the Lady Sooners basketball team. I had serious doubts they could get to the Sweet 16, but exhibiting their passion for the game and love of playing with each other they achieved goals not expected with all the adversity they went through this year with injuries. Very proud of this group and another reason why it is great to be a Sooner.

Congratulations to the Lady Sooners basketball team....

Thank goodness there wasn't a LADY on the floor last night or we would have had the score at least reversed.

GRIN

I like our warriors better. Thank goodness they save their high heels and good clothes for banquet and or date and or any other night except game nights!

IMO given the circumstances this year is Sherri's best coaching job and she still has a chance at the Elite Eight. Never thought I would see one of her teams have only seven turnovers in a second round NCAA tournament game. They have had fewer turnovers than any Sooner team since the 2005 Sooners. Congrats Guys!!!

If they play like they did last night then they can move on. That was as well as they played as a team as I've seen. They took good shots for the most part and took care of the ball. They played some pretty good defense - especially in the second half. They adjusted whatever they needed to and prevented UCLA from getting those easy shots. What concerns me against a team like Tenn is our depth. Hard to imagine us hanging in there in the second half playing six girls.

I agree...I think we are all pleasantly shocked by how well they played. Great job by Sherri and the entire team.

I have added enjoyment of the win over UCLA because I remember reading the horror stories about how everyone from OU was treated out there for the football game in 2005.

That also just reinforced my hatred for everything LA (especially after growing up for a time in the Bay Area).
