OU vs ISU

Peyton shot well and we needed it. Seem like we played better and hope we still keep improving. Oh and Kay Kay played well. Good win.
 
Iowa State is usually a pretty well-balanced team. Today, they were basically Moody or nothing. I have never seen her as hot as she was in the second half. She just threw that last three up for grabs.

We played well for a half. We really didn't play all that well in the second half. We kept making little mistakes. Then, we would do something to overcome it. Carter and Campbell-Olds with eighteen rebounds helped.
 
Kaylon had 14 points today. Without looking, I'm guessing we haven't lost more than a game or two when she has scored 14.
 
Lets be real. This was a mismatch, especially at our house. When teams can't match our athleticism we are going to blow them out the door. West Virgina game has me fearing the long athletic teams, but I think we had just a really off game more than anything... We'll end these teams night in and night out cause we can shoot with them, and we are just way more athletic. Good to get back in the W column tho.

Neisa- had a good game and is playing HARD. Could be a good piece down the road.

Peyton- hitting some 3's, confidence from out there will be huge down there road- Great game.

Gioya- 4-13. Good to see we can overcome an off night from Gioya.

Octo-Manning- just needs to keep shooting and shooting and shooting. Our versatility when she is being aggressive is what makes this team special.

Sharane and KK- beasts on both ends. They do more than scoring- Especially Sharane this season.

When we stay out of foul trouble, we can beat anybody.

She has played very sparingly in the last several games and she didn't even see the court today. I think the only explanation is, she just hasn't been as productive as Sherri wants her to be.

Heard that. We can get it to her, if she can finish we can literally beat you anywhere. She has more post moves than anybody I think I've seen all year.
 
This puts TCU in third place, and we beat them at their house. The Cyclones are now three games behind us.
 
Maddie was the only player on either team today with a number other than 0 in every column of the box score. She really does it all on the floor. I'm very happy for her!
 
This was a fun game to watch today, two outstanding coaches moving their chess pieces on the board. Coach Fennelly is one of the best offensive minds in the game. He runs the same plays for the past fifteen years and still is successful with his kids. A real treat to watch this morning.

Sherri countered with a solid game plan with better athletes and excellent substituting causing some difficult match ups for the Cyclones. This was one of the best games this season of sharing the basketball, and converting in a timely manner. Maddie Gioya, Cabbie, Peyton, etc... just played solid basketball today. Excellent win today against a very good Cyclone team.

Iowa State had Buckley for the rematch in Ames. She had zero points, a rebound, two assists, and 3 turnovers in 28 minutes. It kind of balanced out. We won in Ames by a 75-54 margin, after losing 82-75 in OT in Norman.
 
Can i ask who is that tall girl in uniform on the end of the bench?
 
I decided to play cards yesterday rather than go the game. Big mistake.

From stats and comments, looks like a solid, get-back-on-track game. We needed this win.

If we can get a complete game out of Sharane, on both sides of the ball, I mean, and KK and Goiya stay out of silly foul trouble, we can go far.

I feel bad for Kornet, but you have to produce at practice and in games to see time on this team. That hasn't happened in a long time.

For OU? I noticed Shaya Kellogg sitting towards the end. It seems as though she was the only tall player down there and McKenna was too, but believe Shaya was always further towards the end. When they showed the bench I often saw
Penzo in street clothes on the end, then Shaya, Ritchie and Mckenna.

EDIT: will add "in that order"
 
You can see on the bench kornet is not happy. She used to be the cheer leader of the bench. So she either improves or she is done.
 
I miss Kornet being in the game.....She would always pop in a three and had the biggest smile on her face. Miss her!!!!!!
