OU vs. Northern Colorado Statistical Plus/Minus
Whew! That was a little too close for comfort. It definitely showed the weak points in the OU team right now. They are the same as the last time we observed them.

This was an interesting game: Cade, Tony, and Tiny played well. The rest of the team played from poorly to abysmally.
Cade saved the day in the first half with a barrage of 3s. He also gave out 2 assists, got a block, 2 steals, and had NO turnovers. An excellent game.
Tony Crocker continues to separate from the field as the best player on OU's team, and the leader of the team. He played really hard and smart. 24 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals, and just 2 turnovers. He and Cade won the game.
Tiny played like a man amongst boys--he was much larger than the opposition! He didn't always know what to do, but still played a good game. He filled the stat sheet in just 24 minutes.
Willie played a terrible game. Terrible. Ouch.
TMG played okay, but still didn't play good defense (like earlier in the year). Pledger played okay; RW played mediocre.
For UNC, Kaba, Beitzel, and Proctor carried them. They played excellent games! They played like high-major players for sure. UNC will go pretty far this year; they are 9-3 now, and will challenge for a berth in the NCAA's.
Here are the totals through 11 games, with the minutes per game listed:
OU Statistical +/- Eleven Game Totals
Tony Crocker is the undisputed top player on the team. An SPM mark of 7.1 is a quality college player for sure. Cade is even with WW, now, and will likely pass him at this rate. Tiny is still solid. Pledger is fading somewhat.

Statistical Plus/Minus (SPM) is a method of estimating each player's impact from the box score statistics. SPM is listed in points above the average player playing per 100 possessions--so if that player was replaced by an average player for 100 possessions, SPM is the difference in the final margin. The total of all player's contributions will sum to the actual scoring margin (each team's total will equal half of the overall margin). The original method was outlined by Dan Rosenbaum at 82games.com; recently additional factors were added by Neil Paine at Basketball-Reference.com. I previously compiled the complete 2008-2009 NCAA numbers on this forum.
